I've eaten here twice in the seven years I've lived in Douglasville, both fairly recently (as of July 12th 2022). I drove past this place a lot and saw the drive through line wrapped around the building. Figured it had to be good if so many people were willing to wait that long in a drive through line.
I give this restaurant two stars because their biscuits are pretty good, but unfortunately everything else I had left a lot to be desired. The scrambled eggs had a consistency that made me think they were cooked in bulk in one of those large rectangular pans in an oven. It reminded me of cheap cafeteria eggs, or something you get at one of those "complimentary hot breakfasts" at the kinda hotel you stay at for a single night on a road trip. Waffle House's eggs are far superior. Also, the sausage patty I got both times was just bizarre. It was super dry and crumbly, which wasn't at all appealing. It did taste good, but the texture was off-putting. The sausage gravy was kind of bland, too.
Look, I'm not the best cook in the world, but on my first attempt ever I made better sausage gravy in my cast iron skillet at home. The biscuits I made to go with it were comparable to what Martin's offers. I can make better eggs when I'm only half awake in the morning. It's not just about the flavor or what seasonings you use (I don't think Martin's seasons their eggs at all), it's the texture, too.
"Southern cooking" isn't synonymous with "lazy cooking". Southern cooking is supposed to be made with love, but Martin's food just tastes "expedient". I'm not gonna sit in a drive through line that wraps around the...
Read morePlaced online order. Place was so busy waited in line for 20 min just to pick up an order that was already placed and paid for. Then he forgot my 2 sides of bacon. Went back to the store a couple hours later since they don’t answer the phone when you call and there was a lady at the front as cashier who was rude and accused me of saying the previous cashier took my order when I clearly told her I had came in earlier today for a pick up order and showed her my order on my phone and pointed at the man who was the cashier who handed me my food earlier. She told me that I said he took my order when he didn’t since it was an online order. I said I didn’t say that I said he was the cashier. And I said thank you and walked away and as I walked away she made a comment under breath not loud enough to hear as I’m walking away. Don’t accuse your customers of things they didn’t say when you don’t have any listening skills to your customers!!! Will not go back. 2nd poor customer experience. The food is decent though. I think Cracker Barrel is way better than this...
Read moreI was just BLESSED to meet the MOST WONDERFUL LADY/EMPLOYEE IN THE DRIVE-THRU WINDOW I have EVER met who is a Restaurant Employee!
THIS MESSAGE is for YOU, MISS BETTY! DESPITE the heavy and fast-paced workday that you are CURRENTLY experiencing, YOU STILL MANAGED TO BEHAVE, AND BELIEVE, SO POSITIVELY that YOUR JOY was "CONTAGIOUS"! And I know that is not normally an easy task when tensions run high in your job, but YOU made it happen!
You put A BIGGER SMILE on MY face, and even had a "mini-conversation" in the Drive-Thru Window (while waiting for my items) that I wish EVERYONE COULD HEAR!
You are GIFTING BLESSINGS to People's Souls at a MUCH HIGHER LEVEL than would be considered "normal" ! And THAT VERY FACT makes YOU "A BLESSING OVERFLOWING WITH MORE ABUNDANT BLESSINGS" !
PLEASE KEEP YOUR SPIRIT JUST AS IT IS! I NEEDED THAT RANDOM INTERACTION TODAY, AND I AM GUESSING THAT MANY OTHERS ALSO FEEL THE SAME!
GOD BLESS YOU, MISS BETTY!
BLESSINGS AND MIRACLES!
THANK YOU!
SINCERELY, -Christian (
