Another update: Well they certainly have redeemed their self in a BIG way! They manager stepped up and contacted us. Sent us certificates along with an apology and asked us to please try them again. We are happy to say we went back tonight with friends and everything was impeccable!! Service was spot on. Food was terrific. Could not have been any better.. the manager happened to have been there and she was so kind. We will be back. We love Mellow Mushroom and are very happy that we will not have to go to Acworth to get our favorite pizza anymore! Thank you to this manager Brenna for going above and beyond to make it right! Update: Tried again after 2 years and no different Our! Food was horrible! Ordered wings w/ blue cheese. I received old wings and very old celery & carrots with creamy dressing that was in no way blue cheese! Picture below! Our past experience with Mellow have been great. We are "regulars" when there is not a pandemic. We stopped in today for lunch. We were wearing our masks and sat on the patio outside. No one else was there. Our normal rating for previous trips would have been always a 5. Today They get 2 stars. One for the nice waiter and the other for the pizza. Where they lack is when as we are eating they allow a very large party to sit right beside us. Lots of kids and women. There was ZERO social distancing practiced on the patio. A woman kept standing right at my side with no mask. I immediately went to the front desk to pay my bill and get a box to take our just seved pizza home. I told them exactly why. My response was "sorry mam people just dont listen". Not once did anyone actually tell them they had to social distance! We had our water and tea comped for the problem. They also took the bruschetta off of the bill because the bread was so old and stale that you couldn't eat it. We would have rather had it replaced as it is our favorite! Read moreOrdered a medium pizza and noticed that the crust thickness was thin. I asked the bartender/server if the pizza thickness was standard by default and he confirmed that. I mentioned that this thin crust has been the case a few times we have ordered pizza, so it looks like a preparation inconsistency issue. He said that it depends on who is stretching the dough. I said how does that work if the pizza is supposed to be standard and stretches it to be thin? He got huffy and said, I see that you are not happy with the pizza, so will get you a new one. I told him I was fine with eating the one I had and that I was merely pointing out the lack of consistency in crust thickness to provide him feedback to pass back to that area. He went ahead and ordered another pizza for me in spite of me saying no, do not order another pizza and said that I could keep the one I had as a free pizza.
At that point I felt unwelcomed and ask for to-go with the pizzas we had and the check. I did not wait for his replacement pizza. He told me he was a manager also, but he seemed disinterested in addressing a quality control issue. The message I got here, is that it is better to keep silent and then complain in Google Review. Maybe train this manager some better customer service, like ask the customer what it would take to be satisfied, which all he had to do was acknowledge the feedback and move on. Read moreCame in on a Monday evening which is apparently trivia night. Placed an online order to pickup, a small veg out pizza. I arrived shortly after the estimated order ready time hoping to be in and out having already payed. The restaurant layout in itself is more designed for dine-in, not being a frequent customer of this location it took some thought to figure out where one is supposed to pick up to-go orders from. The space or breezeways in between tables to get to front cashiers are inadequately small. I greeted the staff member, gave the young lady my name and she searched for the order. She returned a couple moments later and advised “it’d be a few minutes”. As I previously mentioned the restaurant layout is catered towards dine in so there wasn’t a convenient waiting area, that being said I was forced to wait uncomfortably by the cashier desk for the remainder of my time in this establishment. It took about another 20 minutes for the food to come out (if I had to guess they just started preparing it after I arrived). The food itself was lackadaisical but as expected from a rushed very young staff. In summary it was just a very poor experience, the decor was nice though.
