Really disappointed in this store. Twice now, I've ordered online for in-store pick up. Both times, the product they gave me was already expired, This second time, I will accept some culpability since I didn't check the box until after I got home and started to put it away. I thought to just check and to my disappointment, it had an expiration date of October 29th, 2020. Last time, it was the same, the product had expired a couple weeks prior to my purchase date. I've also had trouble using the rewards, for some 'unknown' reason, the credit was not being given when I made a purchase. I questioned this and was told, 'yeah, I see the rewards on your account, but I don't know why it's not giving the credit. You'll need to call the 800 number on the receipt'. After the third time of making a purchase and having the same issue, I stayed put and called the number and the clerk and the person on the phone went back and forth over who was responsible for the problem, the cash register itself or something with the online end of things. Ultimately another staff member came and had to do a bunch of keying in on the register and gave me a refund. I hate to feel like a bother, and I left feeling like that. Petco gets zero stars, but because of the one employee who apologized for the inconvenience, I gave 2 stars. I think I'll just use a different pet store or an online retailer going forward. Read moreMy puppy’s grooming appointment was scheduled today for 6p. We arrived at 5:55p to get her checked in. I filled out all the necessary documents and showed proof of my pups updated vaccines. Sarah (the groomer on staff) and I spoke about the type of cut I’d prefer then she confirmed that she could have my puppy done within an hr and half and made me aware that they closed at 8p. I walked around the Petco for 10 minutes then went to Marshall’s next door to kill time. I received a call from Sarah within 25 minutes of leaving my pup stating that she couldn’t finished my pup tonight and stated that my pup pooped 2x and wouldn’t act right with the dryer. I walked back over to the store to investigate why she couldn’t finish the grooming, why was a 6p appt slot even available online if she felt that 2hrs was not enough time to groom the pup, and lastly has she ever had a dog to poop during a grooming and if so, did she finish their session. She had no answers for any of my questions, walked to the back, and came back with a dripping wet dog. She then had the audacity to ask if I wanted her to attempt to dry the dog off. I declined because that should have been attempted from the beginning as this was apart of the services. Clearly Sarah was too lazy and did not want to groom my pup tonight when she had an 1hr and half to remaining. Read moreThis store is very cluttered feeling and not easy to navigate. I found it difficult to find what I was looking for. I guess you just have to go several times and figure out where it all is, but for a first timer it was too difficult. It did not feel like a warm environment, either. There were no staff members on the floor to answer my questions or to help me find anything. I din't feel like my dog and I were important to them at all.
I had made a $500 order from them a few days prior through Instacart and wanted to return some things. They would not let me return them, because I did not have a Petco store receipt. I had the Instacart receipt, which is all Instacart gives you. They won't allow you to have the store receipt, because they add fees that make that cost higher than the store receipt reflects. If Petco is going to offer Instacart services, they need to accept their receipts for returns as well. I ended up with over $200 of returns due to a dog gate that my new puppy could jump over and dog toys that were too small for him. I will not be using Instacart for Petco again, but I am not sure I will be using Petco...
