Pho Dakao-Kennesaw — Restaurant in Georgia

Typically, I enjoy the food and service here but maybe something changed recently. I get food here often and order online to pickup. This last time though, I was treated like a criminal trying to steal food that wasn’t mine.

I walked in, told the cashier my name and that I was picking up. She said my food wasn’t ready so I sat down to wait. After waiting a good bit, a lady came out from the kitchen and asked if I ordered to go, I said yes and told her my name. She handed me my food and as I got up to leave she stopped me and said can you show me your order email? I dig my phone back out and start looking for the order email. I’m trying to explain that I don’t work for doordash, this is my food not something I am picking up to deliver. She insists on looking at the email and I show her. She says she needs to see my name. Now I’m beyond annoyed. My food is ready late, I e been waiting and the last 4 times Ive done this the experience was quick, easy, and pleasant. Why this issue now?

She finally lets me leave and as I’m getting packed up again she asks “Do you need anything else?” impatiently like I wasn’t packing up fast enough for her taste. I just wanted to leave...

I don’t know. I enjoy the food here but if I can’t even order to-go because I’m going to be interrogated by the staff after giving my name twice to 2 different people, it’s not worth the hassle.

So this is the first time that I have been to this place. At a glance, the place looks clean, organized, and is decorated nicely. The food was good, came out fast, and the prices were affordable. The reason I am leaving a 1 star is due to the service. As soon as we sat down our server brought us water. That was great. Then we ordered hot tea. When ordering our food and appetizers I explained to the waitress no one at the table eats pork. We understand that most places have pork in their egg rolls so we confirmed that theirs did before placing our order. We saw there was an option for shrimp spring rolls and she said that instead of the pork ones we could get all shrimp. When she brought the pork egg rolls to the table we simply asked if we could get shrimp ones since she had already told us that we could. It was a simply miscommunication by either her or us that had a very simple solution. She proceeds to go to the kitchen and complain about us loud enough so the entire restaurant could hear. Never have I felt more embarrassed and uncomfortable while sitting in a restaurant. My friend had to get up 3-4 times to ask for different things because she did not come and check on us until we were finished eating. No refills on drinks, no sweetener with our tea, we asked for the check, nothing. The food was great but if you do decide to eat here I would suggest making sure to order it to go. Miserable...

I've had really bad experience at Siagon Cafe in Woodstock so I was on a mission to find a new Pho place without having to drive 45 minutes.

Let's talk about customer service - I will give them 5 stars for the friendly, welcoming customer service.

Let's get to the food. It wasn't the best but it was not bad. I ordered soursop juice, which was pretty yummy. The Papaya salad with grilled pork was tasty as well. The Bánh mí wasn't bad, needs to add more veggies, and more meat. I prefer to have charred meat but definitely can't touch this one spot that I go to off Buford Hwy! The spicy lemongrass chicken was salty and I felt like the chef was stingy on the meat! It was very little and rest of the chicken was almost chopped and diced trying to make the plate look full of meat! PLEASE DON'T DO THAT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!!

NOW!!!! MY BIGGEST ISSUE TO WHY I GAVE THIS PLACE A 3 STAR RATING! The plates!!! Every single plates were chipped🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️!! Some people probably don't mind or think I am being too diva but presentation is EVERYTHING!!! Every one of them needs to be replaced or use sturdy plastic plates! Not a good look. A customer or an employee could cut their fingers on those plates.. I might give them another try but I don't mind driving45 minutes to get some real authentic food and get plenty of...
