Chicken Salad Chick — Restaurant in Georgia

BLUF: The Kennesaw location makes my face happy.

I make a point of telling my kids that daddy "wins" no matter what the circumstances are. They, too, have unique qualities that are accepted as inalienable - most dudeness, total awesomeness, and the queen of all magic unicorns. And sometimes Thursdays just fall flat. And this was one of those days. And we were tired of making "epic PB&J's!" or "rainbow hummus dips" along with PBS kids. Not to mention the dreaded Song by Pink Fong - if you don't know what that is, I envy you. Don't Google it. Save yourself.

(This is a review for food, so hang with me here. The context matters lest the entire experience at Chicken Salad Chick on 4/16/2020 be ruined and the fantastic nature of this transcendent moment in time all be for naught because you, dear reader, won't benefit from the reprieve, the break in the banality of our current Groundhog Day COVID-19 existence!)

So, getting an grub assist in a dire moment was something I really needed. And Chicken Salad Chick was exactly what we needed. I mentioned it in passing and it was as though everyone had just tasted chocolate for the first time: euphoria and gratitude all around.

It isn't hard for me to see why.

Plenty of side dishes. Sandwiches galore and a la cart chicken salad. Lots of flavor options: from classic to fruits and spicy and bacon stuff. Hard to go wrong if a secondary ingredient is bacon from what I have been told...by nearly everyone who has ever lived. I think CSC is on to something.

But what was it about this day? Why so pumped about this experience?

First, I see that they are available on Uber Eats (WINNING FROM THE BEGINNING) and will deliver from Kennesaw to Canton. (Future WIN)

...but we have so much time to burn so let's see what the website has to offer.

Online Ordering? (WIN) Curbside service so everyone can stay safe but still actually see other humans? (WIN) Cookies with meal/happy children?! (WIN) Extra Crackers for the queen of all magic unicorns?! (BOOM!)

Won the day and it wasn't even noon. I had officially earned nap time.

Moral of the story? Kickin Kay Lynn chicken salad was as good a distraction as I have had in many a moon and the Kennesaw CSC location is...

Cute little place seems dedicated to females by the name. The chicken salad is great. I got a BLT with BBQ chicken salad in it with mac and cheese. The mac is gross and flavorless, I was afraid to taste it, it looks like that one dish at a family get together everyone skips because it doesn't look good. The noodles were soggy and over boiled, the "cheese" sauce was flavorless, watery and clumpy. My boyfriend likes the grape salad, I didn't try it. The sides didn't seem like anything to shake a stick at.

UPDATE: We ordered from here for the first time on uber eats. When we got our food, we immidiatly opened the boxes just to find it was completely wrong, not the right salads, breads or sides, the only thing right was the cookie; so we called (it was 7pm on the dot). "Cindy" answered the phone, my boyfriend told her what was wrong and she basically shrugged it off and told us to COME IN TOMORROW FOR OUR REPLACEMENR FOOD since they were closed (literally only closed for 1 minute). We weren't going to eat it because we didn't know what is was and I'm allergic to almonds. We asked them to call uber for our refund, so she called her gm for permission ...she came back and said her gm told her we have to call uber ourselves (not true) to ask for a refund. At that point "Chrissy" started getting rude and sassy and told us "I hope you have a better experience somewhere else", we hung up on her. I doubt she would have been that confidant if the conversation...

I have gone into this restaurant about 4 times and the food is really good. But, the people that take your order are the worst. I went there on a Friday mid morning and girl that waited on me never asked if she could take my order. She let me stand there close to five minutes. There was not anyone in line except me. She moved things around back there and read receipts and orders like she never had a clue that she needs to welcome me and take my order! Finally a girl in the kitchen area spoke up and asked if anyone has taken my order , then the girl finally took my order. I was totally embarressed . I like most people want to feel welcome and taken care of because most of us have to hurry and get back to work . That is the reason I am doing this review because twice the service has been awful at the order station. I always read reviews whe I go somewhere to eat and if I see that there is an issue then I am very hesitant to go back . The food can be the best in the planet but is the service is bad then it is not worth the effort...
