Let me preface my comment by saying I'm not posting this review because I'm angry. After reading the most positive reviews, I thought to give Poblanos a try over Frontera in this area. Big mistake! I'll say this, after reading other guests reviews about Poblanos that were the most negative, I can honestly say that most everything said was spot on with my experience. For instance I ordered over the phone two meals. The food was ready by the time I got to the restaurant from Snellville. I paid for my food and got back to Snellville just to give my companion her order which was correct and my order was incomplete. I ordered a fajita in which the beans, rice, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream were in one container, and the soft taco wraps were in there too but they never put my container with the meats in the bag. After calling, the lady on the phone had an attitude and insisted they put the meat in there for the order. I layed out what was in the bag and what was missing. She then says what do you want me to do. I expressed that she can have them give me the rest of my order or refund my money. In which it was up to me as she did say, I still wanted to try their food. So I said I'll be back up there. I get back to the restaurant from Snellville and I'm having to explain to the woman at the front desk again what I explained to her over the phone. There was a gentleman standing there next to her with a look of disdain on his face. She then goes and tells the guys I'm here and to go and make the order. However, the did not do the refried beans, rice, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce dish over. I started getting looks from everyone that was on the staff like I did something wrong when clearly "They" missed an item that never made it in the bag. There were no apologies, just an okay we're making your order now and a lot of looks. I get home and finally try the meal. I will say that I was extremely disappointed. The food is very bland. No seasonings, No taste. They are quite pricey to be putting out mediocre food. In closing I would say to skip this place. The customer service is non existent. They need help in this category. Very rude people and it shows. Where is the manager??? I would also say that if you want very good Tex Mex food, this is not the place to go to. No authentic flavor nor taste! For what you pay at this establishment for their product, you should go to Midtown, Downtown or Buckhead for what they have to offer. Been there, won't do this...
Read moreJust NO NO NO NO! My husband and I arrived at the restaurant and we were seated right away but the server didn't get to our table until about 15 minutes later to get our drink order but by then we were ready to order our meal. I asked for a "Chile relleno" to which the description on the menu stated "a STUFFED Anaheim pepper". As I am Mexican and I know what a Chile Relleno is, I felt confident that a "Mexican restaurant" named of all names "Poblano's" would know too. Chile Relleno means STUFFED PEPPER. So I failed to ask what the "stuffing" was inside the "Chile Relleno". What I received instead was a pile of ground beef TOPPED with a half of an Anaheim pepper and a white sauce of some sort, like the cheap nacho cheese at Taco Bell and salsa. I can assure you all who are reading this comment that the food sold at this "Mexican" restaurant is not genuine or authentic "Mexican" food, therefore the name of the restaurant is deceitful and the description of the food on the menu is also deceitful. What this restaurant calls a "Chile Relleno" is definitely NOT a "Chile Relleno". An authentic Chile Relleno is STUFFED not topped or layered with real Mexican cheese called Queso Fresco or if not authentic Mexican cheese then Mozzarella cheese at minimum. The music overhead was Spanish Caribbean music like bachata. I was so disappointed that a 'Mexican' restaurant would play Spanish Caribbean music instead of authentic Mexican music. The music also deceitful just like their food. The ambiance would have been much nicer had they played music from authentic Mexican singers like, Vicente Fernandez, Alejandro Fernandez, Antonio Aguilar, Pepe Aguilar, Joan Sebastian, Juan Gabriel and such, just to name a few. In resume, we will not be back. We have found authentic Mexican food in TAQUERIAS near by like La Perla, Jalisco, El Ranchito, El Taco Veloz, Don...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Poblanos in Lawrenceville for the first time on July 17th. Our server's name was Kathy (based only on the receipt, she did not introduce herself). The experience might have been better had the server been as interested in attending to our meal as she was sitting at the bar with the other servers. When asked if the Salsa Casera had habanero peppers in it (as I am deathly allergic), the server said that she "didn't think so, but wasn't sure". So.... can you find out? When she came back, we had already decided on our orders, and was told that if we wanted the salsa, it would not be ready until after we received our food. When asked, the server said that there was no other option for salsa beyond the table salsa, which tasted like ketchup and manwich sauce mixed together. Once our food came out (delivered by another server), we did not see "Kathy" again for extended periods of time, other than noticing her sitting at the bar with her back to the tables. In general, our food was "good", but the experience was one that made us emphatically say we would not return to that location. When I later attempted to find corporate contact information, I discovered that there is apparently not any - which doesn't sit well as a consumer. The $36 we paid for dinner was not worth the experience we had, and would have been much better spent at a restaurant with good service and a better atmosphere. I think it is sad when a meal, and my hard-earned money is wasted due to a server who clearly has no pride in her job, or care for her responsibilities. If you don't want to wait tables, then don't... but don't make the consumer miserable in...
