Waffle House — Restaurant in Georgia

My wife and I decided to bypass IHOP this morning and try Waffle House. My tennis partner is a huge fan of WH and it’s not like I’m all in on IHOP, which happens to be practically right next door. So why not, it’s only a breakfast, right?

Wrong! This place had what I call two super stars that make this place more than “just a breakfast.” What super stars? To start with, the cook! Wow, did that young man make us the best waffle in town. It had a nice light feeling to it that made it very special and made you not feel bloated. Honestly, it was THAT good. The eggs, yummy hash browns, sausage and toast were all very good too, but the waffle was clearly the star of the show. I guess that is why this place is called WAFFLE HOUSE….duh!

The next super star was the beautiful young lady who both greeted us in and also waited on us. Tierra had more than just outward beauty….she had joy and enthusiasm that jumped out of her onto us….very contagious. I would call that….inner beauty. She made my wife and I smile a lot and made us feel like this was not just a breakfast.

As for cost….I got the Senior meal and my wife got the breakfast special….both with coffee, under $20. And there really wasn’t much of a wait time on getting our meals. That amazing chef looked to me like he had 4 arms with all that he was doing. I couldn’t wait to give those “super stars” a worthy tip.

Lastly, I don’t mean to be cruel to IHOP because we like that place and never really had any complaints except sometimes it would take longer to get our meal….but we now LOVE Waffle House and probably won’t be coming back. WH, being a smaller restaurant, does give you a much cozier, intimate feel when you enter the premises. We like that ambience, especially for a breakfast meal.

I hope this reviews helps any seeker looking for a GREAT BREAKFAST on Scenic Hwy and also looking for not one, but two super stars waiting to serve you. -BB

PS. I hope WH gets to trim back a few trees blocking the marquee. I’ve past by that place many times and did not notice it...

TO MANAGEMENT AND BRENT: I have been coming here for the last 10 years. I understand that sometimes servers are not in the best mood. But last week we witness Brent call Marlene a greedy B!+$# then proceeded to yell at her in the "back room". What I gathered is that Brent was upset that Marlene had customers request her. Now, I have had Brent serve us and his service is in line of that of a middle schooler at best, they maybe better. At one point when he was our server he sat down playing on his phone, when we asked him for something he completely ignored us so we asked another server when he noticed he replied "whatever". On another occasion he brought 3 creamers for 3 coffees when we asked for more he brought 1. Let's not get started on when we have to return something. These are only the few reasons why Brent, YOU are not our server PERIOD. But to management HOW? How do YOU allow this to happen? When John was the manager we never saw this happen. It's a shame but I definitely feel this type of behavior towards a coworker is COMPLETELY unacceptable. IF he is allowed to do this in front of customers my question is what is he saying and how is he treating his coworkers when no one is...

My experience yesterday at this location was alright , it wasn’t excellent service , and I only say this because I currently am a waitress . My server seemed less attentive to me compared to the other customers he had . A couple came in prior to me and was seated , my waiter went to them and introduced himself , however when he came to me he just said is this for here or to go and proceeded to ask me what I was drinking . When my food and drink came out , I had to ask him for the additional things , and he did give them to me but I almost felt like I was bothering him to ask him for extra things . When it was time to pay I stood at the register without him recognizing I needed to check out , It was then when another lady said I’ll be right with you , and my server wasn’t even busy he was conversing with the cook . It just would have been nice to receive more of my servers attention, but he wasn’t really concerned. My bill was 13 and some change and i always give good tips , but i gave 4 would have given him more if he at least pretended to care more . Just could have been...
