I went there to have some links removed out of my watch. The original price for link removal was $18, which is already the most expensive I have ever seen that type of work. At most that should cost $10. I decided to go and have it done anyway, they’re the closest shop that offers that service.
I spoke with them on the phone, they explained the price and how that could be taken care of in the store while I wait. I arrived at the store handed them the watch, and they took it to the back room and began the work on it. 15 minutes later they come back to the front of the store where I was waiting and explained that they couldn’t remove the links. I have never been to a jewelry shop that cannot remove Watch links.
They tell me they can take it to their watch guy, and do not explain that in doing so that is going to change the price of the service(which is already over priced). I agree to having the service and let the watch expert take a look at it, and they explain that it’s going to be a couple of days. 4 or 5 days later they reach out and to me and explain the Watch expert has received it and that he can complete the link removal for a whopping $38. At that point I’m in shock. $38 to remove 2 links from a watch bracelet. I told them no, I do not want the service anymore.
5 days later they call me and inform me my watch has arrived, I go back to the store to pick up my item and the watch expert removed one link from my watch, after I explained that I did not want any work done on it. I asked the employees why 1 link was removed and they explained “we’re not going to charge you for it” well, obviously you’re not going to charge me for unauthorized work.
This place overcharges for basic work and I will never go back. It’s not that I can’t afford the $38 , it’s the principle that they’re about to charge 4 times the price of what any other shop would charge. The only reason they’re not getting a 1 star from is that their employees are...
Read moreI recently brought my wedding ring in to be cleaned, and during the inspection, they noticed that one of the prongs holding my diamond was broken. What started as a routine visit turned into a thoughtful conversation about how my ring had become uncomfortable and no longer felt right—it didn’t fit properly and just didn’t reflect what I wanted anymore.
With the wonderful help of Drew we explored options and ultimately decided to upgrade to a new band while keeping my original diamond, which meant a lot to me. I also traded in some old jewelry to help offset the cost, which they made incredibly easy and straightforward with assistance from Ashley and Stacey.
The entire team was patient, kind, and truly supportive—never pushy, always respectful. I felt like I had all the time I needed to make this big decision without any pressure, and that made all the difference.
Communication was excellent throughout the entire process, and I always felt like I was in the loop. My new ring will be so beautiful and elegant, but also simple and timeless—exactly what I was looking for. My diamond will be in a better setting that will work better for my life as a nurse and I’m so excited to wear it.
This experience turned something that could’ve been stressful into something really meaningful and joyful. Drew, Ashley, and Stacey were an absolute delight to work with, and I’m incredibly grateful for their guidance and care.
10/10 recommend for all your jewelry needs (care and new...
Read moreI highly recommend this jeweler! I am EXTREMELY particular about what I like and am pretty hard to please, and I have been blown away by the quality of service and craftsmanship at Ken Walker. My boyfriend and I came in one day after looking at engagement rings in shops all over the region. I wanted something a bit old-fashioned and different, but everywhere we had gone, everything looked the same. We had also had some terrible experiences with really high pressure salespeople that left us feeling frustrated and discouraged. Right away we noticed that Ken Walker had tons of options that we had never seen anywhere else. Then Stacey, the owner, helped me choose the perfect ring without any pressure at all. I also had a few questions about customization, and she got the info right away. Then Stacey brought in a number of oval diamonds for me to see. Since I'm really picky and we had a strict budget, it took a few weeks and a few viewings to find just the right stone. Stacey was so patient and kind during the whole process, and still never pressured us. She was considerate of our budget, and she made us feel like part of the family. This shop is the kind of place where they actually care about their customers, and that is so rare. I'm already planning to buy my boyfriend's (soon to be fiancé!) ring through them, as well as some Christmas gifts for family. Obviously I can't say enough...
