Something needs to change. I arrived home last night to see my mom struggling. The staff were so rude, disrespectful, and inhumane to my mother that the altercation almost literally gave her a heart attack. Her chest was burning and her stomach in knots even still today. She was holding back tears to explain just how unkind the staff had been treating her. I held her in a hug for a long time and I could feel just how much her body couldn't relax. It's insane how an establishment can be so poorly managed that it would lead to an encounter this traumatizing. My mother was even getting sympathetic looks and comments from other customers, they were noticing how horrid the staff were. One even said to her "don't take it personally, they don't like white people in here." It's the fact that other people felt treated just as injusticed, they felt it was a racial issue. Consider writing a formal apology Leaf, Maggie, and Angel, because it's disgusting and disheartening to have heard about this. My mother is a genuine person and never deserved to be treated the way you treated her, her heart could literally barely handle it. You don't know how kind, patient, loving, and giving of a person she is. Let alone a customer, you just don't treat a human being the way you did. It's akin to a bunch of kids bullying an older lady. The world doesn't need to be like this. Be better, do better. You can do it. It is crucial that the management step up to create a healthier environment for employees and customers alike. The staff shouldn't be stressed to this extremity that they don't have the mental and emotional capacity to handle the job, and to be lashing out and ganging up on customers. All around, I really pray that someone steps up to remedy the toxic environment. I see other reviews from now to a month ago expressing intense dissatisfaction from poor management. There is a serious problem happening at this location, and it needs to be handled with a mindful and mature mind and heart. I pray somebody steps in and creates some changes in management before something even more disturbing happens here. Nobody deserves what's...
Read moreI have never submitted a review. I had to this time. We visit the Mesa location often. Our first visit to the Higley Gilbert store, we placed our takeout order and waited. We noticed several individuals waiting along with us. After 35 mins we started noticing folks sitting at the tables were getting served ahead of us. Then more were getting served. Then those of us waiting started talking. @ the 45 min mark I asked one of the workers what was going on. She informed us that there are two order queues. One for takeout, and one for seated customers. She also said that the seated customers are served first ahead of us. Image that. So now there are many of us standing and waiting. We all started asking for the manager which did not acknowledge this issue. Then when we asked for a timeline, they couldn't find 3 of our orders. The point to this is that the owners have decided to make those who order takeout simply wait much longer. But I ask the owners, is making paying customers wait for any type of order at all fair, and for waiting for more than an hour. One would say we were stupid for waiting that long, but we tried to be patient, and we did wait, based on the assertion that they would make our food and get it to us. You need to know that it is absolutely insulting to make a person that orders takeout vs seated orders wait an excessively long time. Its just bad business. There was no real management on duty on a Sat 5:30p for dinner. As a newer location, no one was there to see this transpire. It was/is a mess. And on that note, we will...
Read moreMy husband and I visited Cheeba Hut Subs in Gilbert, AZ, yesterday, March 22, 2025, around 2 PM, and it was a frustrating experience. The restaurant was only moderately busy, with most customers already served, yet we waited an unacceptable 35 minutes for just two subs. It felt like pick-up orders were being prioritized over dine-in customers, which is inexcusable. To make matters worse, when we tried to order a beer to pass the time, I was denied service because I forgot my IDâdespite being in my 40s and clearly over 21. This rigid "company policy" is ridiculous. No other establishment does this, and itâs obvious this rule exists because the company doesnât trust its staff to make basic judgments. Instead, customers suffer for it. Others at the bar were just as frustrated, grumbling as they handed over their IDs to be scanned. The bartender didnât help mattersâher rude attitude only added to the irritation. The staffâs performance was subpar. Many employees appeared distracted and struggled with basic tasks like taking orders or helping customers. The bartenders were particularly incompetent, lacking knowledge of their own beer selection, mispronouncing names, and having no clue how to make a cocktail. This was our third visit, and while weâve been understanding of "kinks" since itâs a new location, these persistent issues point to poor management. Gilbert isnât a college town; we expect quality service, and Cheeba Hut isnât delivering. While the subs are tasty, theyâre not worth the...
