Del Taco — Restaurant in Gilbert

I'm not one who frequents "fast food" establishments on a regular basis. But I have dined at the Del Taco on Southern & Val Vista on occasion and they have always been pretty decent, certainly better than most Taco Bells. So when this one opened so close to home, I figured I'd give it a try. Well, I don't take pleasure in being negative, but I stood at the counter for 6-7 minutes before anyone took my order, even though there were no other customers in the restaurant and only one vehicle in the drive-thru! This was AFTER the gal working the drive-thru said she'd be right with me. And, while standing there (about to walk out, actually), I could over hear talking not too far from the counter. Turns out, the entire time I was contemplating leaving, THE MANAGER (or one of them) was one of the voices I heard, just going on and on about her day with another employee. Then, when she finally figured she had better serve me, she seemed really short with me, as though she couldn't understand why I was not happy at that point, which I usually am, by the way. Even worse, the food was not as good as the other Del Taco I mentioned before. Hopefully, they will get their act together with a little more...

Don’t go to this place! In town for work. Walked over from my hotel to eat dinner real fast. Walked in and stood at the counter for over 3 minutes while the kids were huddled up in the back of kitchen vaping. It wasn’t until a guy that one of the workers knew that I finally was able to place my order. The guy who finally came up to take my order was rude and didn’t care I was standing there a long time. He was constantly cursing. After ordering I watched another worker walk around the kitchen on a cellphone with gloves on for a while then he proceeded to make a to go order without changing gloves. There was a lady who was walking around looking like she was doing manager or inventory stuff but she had no control over her staff. Very unsanitary place! I walked out to go back to my hotel and all the kids were outside vaping and smoking weed. Probably could have been cleaning or doing their job. Side not I did get very ill later that night from the food there which was not...

Just got back home from picking up an order from the drive through. Order was missing a few items, so I tried to call and let them know. No answer after over 10 rings, but there were at least 6 or more people working there 15 min ago. After validating I was indeed charged for the missing items, I saw that they had a survey you can take online. That didn't work either as the code that was supplied for the review, on the receipt, wouldn't work.

Not wanting to bash the hard working employees that are working there. But check your order, as the location is new and you dont want to leave with a negative feeling about getting shorted out of your money or someone is left not getting dinner when you get home.

Follow-up Went back a second time around the first on January and my order was correct but tried my luck a third time and they left out half my order again. So my fault for not checking my order. But the location definitely has not fixed their quality control issues....
