I came to this location on Power to buy my husband a burger after he had worked a 21 hr shift. All he wanted was a whataburger, exactly as presented in the receipt and "grill" slip. He specifically asked me to request to add "cheese, BBQ sauce, and jalapeño", the rest is because I know how he likes his burgers.
I live approx 20 mins from this location. I drove out of my way to make this burger happen for him (not a big deal for others, but context).
I get the burger, the gentleman Noah that took my order made sure he listened and had me confirm the order on screen. As a consumer, based off what I see, he rang it correctly because it has the ingredients I'm asking for.
I get home and my husband takes a bite and says "they didn't have BBQ sauce?" I tell him I ordred it, it's on the receipt. I double check and it is on the receipt and not on the burger. So here, after his tripple shift, he's eating something that he didn't really want that I drove 20 mins out of my way to get for him so that he can enjoy and then rest.
I called the store to let them know of the issue, I spoke to an man named Alex first that seemed to not be able to hear me, I remained polite.
He gave the phone to a woman that had the tone of a manager in her voice.
She tells me that I can come back for the bbq sauce packet since the cashier didn't ring me up for the bbq sauce to be on the burger correctly, anyway. The cashier incorrectly rang in my order because it would charge the bbq sauce 40 cents. I told her I was not coming back right now and not for just a bbq sauce packet. She proceeds to tell me that he didn't even charge me which is great.
As a consumer, it is not my job to know how you ring in an order, nor to correct your cashier to ring it in with the 40cent bbq sauce, which I'd have gladly paid. I drove out of my way as it is.
But I sure am not coming back 20 mins out of my way for just a bbq sauce packet. Even if I brought back my husbands bitten food, it would be cold by the time I got it back to you for a single bbq sauce packet.
I let her know, I understood how they do business at that location, and would never come back before we disconnected.
Note to upper management, teach your people to pick their battles wisely. Correctly making a sandwich hot and fresh and "just like you like it" is your motto. Haggling over 40cent Bbq sauce, with a guest,...
Read moreI was recently in Arizona for a Business' trip and I had the opportunity to have Whataburger for the first time. The one in Mesa near the airport was the one closest so I decided to give it a try. I have heard much about the chain for many years from Texans who sang its praises and wanted to see it for myself.
The Service: The service at this location was genuinely refreshing. The staff was very polite! They were top notch! Nothing bad to say at all
The Atmosphere: The eating areas were spick and span, kept very clean. No issues in the slightest
The Food: Arguably the most important part of this review at all. I must say, the food didn't really live up to the hype. Don't get me wrong what I ate WAS good, but not NEARLY as good as Texans have told me. The Spicy Ketchup is fantastic would be good on many items in general. The Lunch/Dinner items were easily the strongest items on the menu by far, Breakfast left a little to be desired. The pancakes were probably the lest impressive item. To be blunt, McDonalds flapjacks are better IMO. However, the Honey butter chicken biscuit was great!
Overall, the Mesa Whataburger is a great location with great staff. But Whataburger definitely isn't an "In-N-Out Killer" that its often hyped up to be! But if you are in Arizona and want to try it its...
Read moreI decided to get lunch for my wife and her mother today and what an ordeal it was. I ordered on the Whatabuger app for curbside pickup. Placed my order, paid and went to get it. I get to Whataburger and per the app I enter my curbside space number and wait. There was a range from 11:47 to 11:49. At 11:56 I went in and tired figure out what the delay was. She asked for my name I gave it. She went over and looked as some bags then came back and asked for my name again. I said my name is James and she says no the name on the order. I tell her agin I order curbside pickup. She then goes over to a bunch of bags and starts to get my drinks ready. About 5 minutes later a young man brings me my food and drinks. I ask if my food has been sitting there getting cold this whole time and he just has a blank look in his face and says my order didn’t show in the screen. No idea what that means to me but no sorry, no here’s a discount or anything. And yes the food was cold and this was my second time trying there new chicken wings and the first time there were good but this time they have little sauce and are dry and tough. Just not a good experience today at the...
