This is not authentic Japanese food. Now that we've gotten that out of the way I'll give a review of my own experience. I ordered a teriyaki bowl with all white meat. This dish is the most basic of Japanese dishes an American fast food establishment can make. Chicken, rice, scallions, and teriyaki sauce. I got all of that in my dish. The rice was hot and perfectly cooked, the scallions were cut fresh, and the teriyaki sauce tasted like teriyaki sauce. Now for the bad news...the meat. The bowl was topped with what looked like a thin (as in almost flat) chicken breast cutlet that had char-grill marks as if it had been chargrilled. The breast was hot but extremely dry. I've seen this lame attempt at chicken before at other restaurants who use one of those two_sided sandwich grills to reheat a precooked piece of chicken. It's then sprinkled with chargrilled flavoring to fool you into thinking you're eating a freshly grilled piece of meat. I took it back to the counter and asked if it was made fresh and thecashier told me it was. I then asked if she could clarify whether the chicken had already been cooked before I ordered it and then reheated. She confirmed that this was the case. I explained that this process will always dry out the meat. So she offered to cook another and confirmed to me that they would start with a raw piece of chicken. As it turned out, the new order turned out just as dry. I took a few bites and threw it away and walked out.
I broke a rule that I usually live by but failed to follow because I was hungry. The rule is: if I enter a fast food joint where I can't see the workers preparing the meals then don't eat there. Restaurants like these are designed with deliberate forethought and at Yogis Grill, they deliberately designed it so that you can't see how the food is prepared. They don't want you to see them fixing up pre-cooked chicken in a sandwich grill rather than over an open flame. Pathetic.
I can only imagine the horror behind how they make their "fresh sushi". Fortunately I...
Read moreUsually a good Business, This newer location is sinking fast.!!!! I frequent Yogi's often, was pleased as this newer location opened. Sadly I have read some of the reviews of complaints of running out of rice.. which is ridiculous. I have noticed on a few occasions usually the 730pm-820pm time frame this to actually be true. I have witnessed customers being told by the staff behind the counter they actually are out of rice!!! This is actually happening!!! I recently told coworkers that it is a shame when a well known business that has good food /decent reputation takes a turn for the worst and you can visibly see it happening. I had just said to them " I wish you could reach out to the owners/managers and tell them this is gonna go south quickly, change it fast". The out of rice thing looks like a teenager game to get out of making bowls and such leading up to your closing time and they are using the ole, "we dont have anymore trick" so they can close early, etc. I have noticed two younger clueless possible teens now working, they lack customer service skills, dont understand the pos system too well and are now messing up orders, including my last two. Well Well Well ..the coworkers I just mentioned just went tonight to grab some Yogi's and guess what? A HAND WRITTEN SIGN WAS TAPED TO THE DOOR AT 750PM SAYING THEY ARE CLOSED!!!!!!! What happen to 9pm? Closed early now? Your playing fire with these games.. Sorry folks this is going down hill fast and hopefully owners care and read this posting, cause you are already losing loyal Yogi's customers!!! FIX IT FAST!!! its already dead every time I go in there and its gonna get worse with these...

Of course I never had it before but that avocado roll did not even taste like an avocado was on it it was tough mostly rice and no flavor I threw it out right in the trash in front of the restaurant. Also there was a different price on the tempura veggie it was 899 when I looked at it it was like 949 But I said thatâs OK I wasnât gonna worry about it that I show them right away that I got it in the mail just today and they should I have honored that but it didnât bother me if the food would have been good. They even tried to say to me oh no ever no one ever complained about that before that it was a different price What are you talking about itâs right there in black-and-white I just said probably no one ever noticed I just look at prices but I shouldnât have to explain myself when I was there a black and right in front of them that kind a got me but it really didnât because it wasnât that much money Then I tasted the shrimp tempura and the vegan tempura it was so greasy and Unflavorful and with tax it was $10 I couldnât eat that either and I had to spit it out because it was so much fat No flavor.
