E-Loteria — Restaurant in Glen Allen

At first glance this looks like an ice cream shop, but they’re much more! Steak tacos were good, & fresh tortillas ! If I had to make a complaint it would be too many large onions in the tacos but some people like that and not a big deal, they can be taken out. Quesadilla Birria/taco was delicious. My husband go the Torta de Milanesa which he said was “so good”. We also tried the elote cup with Cotija cheese and Tajin, I thought it needed a little more flavor for my liking (I think they used the mild tajin), but that was perfect for my husband bc he doesn’t do spicy, so he ended up eating it. My daughter ate the chicken tacos, actually she devoured them! And she also ate the fries that came with the Milanesa lol she said they were amazing and crunchy lol. Now the juices were SO delicious I regret not getting the giant one like my husband did. I got Mango, he got Horchata, and our daughter got Strawberry Lime. Lastly the fresas con crema were so good, I still think about them more than I should 🤣, that’s why I’m here writing a this review weeks later. The place is different than a typical Mexican spots but I pleasantly surprised. Just prepare yourself for a wait! It does get super busy during the later hours so the lines will be long. They take orders relatively quick, it’s just the wait for the actual food that some people might not be okay with but definitely worth the it in my opinion. tend to come here all the time , always spend a good amount of money here I come here to spend not to get free food . today had to be one of the worst experiences I’ve received . Soon as we ( me and my family ) came in I was told can’t eat here it’s only to go keep in mind I had enough time to eat before closing time . while we were ordering my family were joking around with one another as we ordered as they were joking we kept ordering we never stopped ordering as they joked around one of the workers come from around the corner and ask us to stop joking around and to finish our order . My father asked to speak to the manager she said no manager was there that they were the ones in charged at the moment she continued having a rude attitude . We kept ordering paid nearly $70 then she comes and continues to have a nasty attitude so we request a refund because there’s no reason to have an attitude when we are paying customers I’ll take my $70 back and give it to another business who deserves it. I saw a few local influencers post and rave about this restaurant, so I figured I’d see what the hype was about. I still don’t know. My husband got the quesabirria tacos, and I got the birria balls and it was all delicious, truly. But I don’t think it was significantly better than some of the other places Ive been to in Richmond, especially for the price. The restaurant is very small, only 4 tables with a few chairs, and a bench at the front. We arrived at the perfect time and managed to snag a seat before they got busy, which was lucky because we wound up waiting around 30 minutes for our food. Others were not so lucky and had to stand for that period of time, or go sit in their car as it’s in a strip mall and not a cute place to walk around. The staff were polite but I wouldn’t say friendly or welcoming. Again, the food was good, but it didn’t come with chips/salsa or any sides so we had to pay extra for rice, and when we asked if we could get cups of water they said they didn’t have that (??) but we could buy bottled water from the fridge.
