My wife had just gotten back from Afghanistan and was craving seafood yesterday. We are both from New Orleans, so natuarally anything claiming New Orleans and seafood we are skeptical to try if we are outside the state of Louisiana. So walked in and was greeted by their friendly staff. What immediately caught our eye was the order 5lbs of seafood the 6th is free. My wife comments out loud challenge accepted, the guy warns that it's a lot of seafood. In the back of my head I'm laughing and proceed to tell him he doesn't know who he is dealing with. So we sit down and proceed to order just about a 1lb of everything off the menu. So while waiting for our main course we each ordered a dozen raw oysters as an appetizer. These oysters were very fresh, like they had just been pulled out of the water and walked straight to our table. We had ordered the New Orleans mix mild version since she had to work up her spice palette after being gone for a year. The flavor combinations were spot on, and even the mild was enjoyable with just a perfect kick at the last second to let you know it was present. To top it off at the end they wanted us to try their beignets which is a classic New Orleans staple of must haves, and let them know our honest opinion. We both kind of gave the side eye, and my wife explained we dont eat beignets outside of New Orleans. So skeptically we agreed to try. Me and my wife both agreed that if we had done a blind taste we would have swore they came from the Famous Café Du Monde in the heart of New Orleans. So overall it was an excellent experience and will definitely be adding this location to our favorite places to dine at. For anyone reading this from New Orleans you will not be disappointed in the flavors and get a...

Both restaurants serve similar style New Orleans seafood with the unique quirk of being served in a very traditional family broil manner. In both locations this is great for sharing and makes the dining experience very fun.
The point that Live Crawfish seems to pride itself on is the sauce in which its food is cooked in. The sauce while tasty is slightly watered down in the end product likely as a result of the cooking process. This left me wanting a more concentrated flavor in every bite. While yes the spice level will make up for this a smaller amount of better sauce would go a long way.
The only issue that has really hung on my mind since my visit was the pricing. The market prices were shockingly high and when you consider that things like corn, potatoes, and sausage and other things are priced separately the cost can really go up.
The issue of pricing lead to a second thought which was the freshness of the seafood itself. While the shrimp were very good the both the snow and dungeness crab legs seemed like they had been frozen for too long and were left rather flavorless.
In all I think this restaurant has great potential to be a great choice for a Friday or Saturday night but my visit left me...
