My boyfriend and I were looking forward to our hibachi and sushi date. I'm sorry this is a long detailed post, but we both grew up working in restaurants as servers and managers and we just could not understand why the service was so bad, the servers stood about 10 feet from us and stared with a scowl while we were eating, and it felt like harassment from the servers throughout the evening. With my current corporate job, I go out to dinner weekly and I have never been treated so poorly, so rudely, and pushed to eat and drink so quickly. I would never want to share this same experience with my family or coworkers!!! We get to Sakura and sat immediately. Before taking our jackets off we were asked what we wanted to drink and we responded we haven't looked at the menu yet. Only 1 minute later he came back and asked again, and I asked him what brand of Cabernet did they have? He said Cabernet....obviously I knew that. Then immediately he asked what kind of hibachi we wanted, and we shared we would like some sushi to start. A female waitress came over with a frustrated attitude and asked if we were having hibachi and we explained yes, but we would like to start with sushi. We offered to move to another hibachi station and then she came back after checking with someone and said stay there. The male server asked us what kind of sushi we wanted and we stated (with being given a sushi menu) what we were interested in. With a language barrier he couldn't understand "tuna roll, shrimp tempura roll...". So we asked him to give us a menu so we could point it on the menu. Then he asked for our hibachi order again and we explained we would like to eat our sushi first. We were there to enjoy the experience, not shove food down and go! The female waitress came back and told us before we got our sushi that we had to order. So we decided since we ordered 4 rolls of sushi to order just one hibachi. I told her "we want to order steak & shrimp, the filet for my steak." She then began to mock me and mumble something and rock her head back and forth as she wrote my order! So the rudeness continues through dinner and my boyfriend and I had to endure the servers stares and mocking from them the rest of the dinner. To top it off there were no hibachi tricks and fun... there was no shrimp to catch. I regret that I gave them a 20% tip, but I understand how difficult it can be these days and it's the holidays. The tip did not reflect the service but I hope my kindness will remind them how to...
Read moreAboslutely the worst experience I've had a restaurant in a while. Like many other reviews we found the staff to be rude and trying to eat Hibachi impossible. Our friend tried to reserve a table ahead of time for us 3 to eat Hibachi but they told him he can only eat at a booth but order Hibachi. When us 2 arrived we were told the 2 of us could get a Hibachi table easily but we went to find our friend. We then requested a Hibachi table and were told sure. As soon as we sat down the manager walked over and talked to the waitress and we were told we would have to order within 10 minutes and that was fine. Not even 1 minute later our waitress comes back and angrily tells us we have to sit at a booth instead and says outloud "shoo shol" and brushing us to the table. We then watched as they sat a couple and a baby and let them take as long as they wanted to order Hibachi. I'm not sure why we had a different experience but it left a sour taste. We sit down and order $50 of just appetizer before deciding after the appetizer we'll be leaving because of the awful experience. The waitress ignores us and straight refuses to come back to our table for an hour. We finally pay our check and leave. The food we gotten was simply awful. The fried oysters were all batter and bland. The softshell crab was unseasoned and partially fried. The tuna and salmon sushi tasted frozen and beyond rancid. The chicken skewers were tough and stone cold. The boba tea was awful. Overall I would never recommend anyone...
Read moreThis spot contains great hibachi, however the hosts here, especially Scott, the short man with glasses and blue tennis shoes makes this place somewhere I would recommend to nobody. After being blatantly disrespected, lied to, and hung up on over the phone Scott refused service to me and my special needs brother until “all party members were present.” I made it to clear to scott that my brother has autism and sensory issues regarding wait lines and large amounts of people, but he didn’t care and forced him to be inside before we were seated. It is a shame that he single-handedly ruined our experience due to his lack of manners and home training, as the food and servers were amazing. On the phone when I asked what the wait time, he cut me off and said “ITS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE” in which i replied “that’s fine but what is the current wait time?” He explained that the wait time would be 20 minutes, but when we showed up magically a table was ready for us. So the problem was not a long line but a liar of a host that is a disgrace to this franchise. I would like to make it clear we had absolutely no problems with any other workers besides scott. Although I am not sure if he lied about his name, I hope my description fits the person of the host working on the evening of December 29th, 2024 approximately 5:00 pm. I hope disciplinary action is taken as this company needs to understand the importance of catering to those with special needs as well as general customer...
