The winter wonderland of Texas Roadhouse! Let me first off say just how cold this place inside. All the employees working on 24 August 2025 were wearing heavy coats. I’m a hot natured person and was freezing the entire time. This location opens at 11am on sundays and we’re were the second family to walk in . We were immediately told 30 min to be seated and the place was full staffed so ok we sat and watched groups of 4-6 constantly walk in as walk ins and be seated no reservations required here and walk in only so I asked the host why we’re being skipped as a group of 8. We were told there was no tables available … again we were second group/family to walk in the door! So we sat and waited for over 30 mins whatever. I let it go as laziness since this was where my 10 year old son wanted to go for his birthday dinner. Well after being seated a waitress showed and took drink order. Then little while later food order and was given 6 small rolls for 8 people and 1 small cup of butter . Practically had to beg for some more rolls as we waited 45 mins for our food. The music was so loud that the waitress struggled to hear any of us to take orders . She practically had to get by our ears to hear us. We politely asked for music to be turned down and they turned it up. Ok so again not loosing my temper our food came and it was all cold. Literally every one of our plates from steaks to burgers and catfish was all cold. We nibbled on some of the food but after being so cold and uncomfortable and such horrible service we decided to pay our 200.00 bill and leave just to be able to get warm again and thaw out and warm our food up at home and eat in peace. We will never eat at this Texas Roadhouse in Edwardsville Illinois again and possibly Texas Roadhouse anywhere again. The Manager that works here should be fired immediately. Imagine being dead of winter and walking into a building with no heat and that’s how cold it was no joke with all and I do mean all employees wearing winter heavy coats not to mention the horrible service and quality of what they call restaurante food. This place deserves a non star if I could give it that poor of a rating not just for ruining my sons birthday dinner but for putting us through 2 hrs of misery and had to pay 200 dollars for it! We should have left at the very beginning when we walked in and was treated the way we’re were at time of seating . Piss poor service and very low...
Read moreWow. As was the case with another reviewer, this was to be my late birthday dinner and we had gift cards to use. My girlfriend and I made a reservation on our way from Bethalto and we were in our seats within 5 minutes of arrival. Sitting in a booth next to the bar, the bar keep was our server and took our order promptly. All good so far and then the second basket of bread arrived..... both of our salads took 30 mins so we asked about them. Salads are delivered. We observed several tables get sat, fed, cleared and paid. Some with more than 4 guests so...... we waited another 40 minutes for our ice cold plates of food. That's not a typo- the sirloin she ordered was cold, dried out and inedible. My DEEP FRIED breaded steak? As a chef I can tell you the center of that DEEP FRIED protein couldn't have been 65 degrees as my index finger plunged through its center. Did I mention that it was a dish that is DEEP FRIED? Then we have a "manager" come to our table who (and I get it, this line of work os stressful, but come on with the attitude and the subtle mean mugging as she walked by us after our encounter). She made the excuse that they're using a new system and it is making service difficult- thereby insinuating that's why our food wasn't properly prepared? (Our server said they've been using the new software for 2 weeks). Typically I'm the last to complain but this was absolutely unacceptable by even a Popeyes chicken standard. At 20 bucks a plate, I'm reminded why 20 years ago I walked away from corporate kitchens. She (the manager) comped the steak and brought out the cold baked potato we had not received with the food moments before. Needless to say, we won't get the almost 90 minutes back that we wasted. Considering Sundays are the only day I and my significant other have off together, coupled with my birthday (TXRH didn't know about my bday) we were more than disappointed. Kind of ruined the whole Sunday vibe,...
Read moreMake sure to check in online! Fully expected to have to wait as it was a busy Saturday night, but the empty waiting area is misleading, making the flow of people that just walk in and get seated right away kind of frustrating. This part, however, in no way was reflected in the review as it was totally expected. The under baked white rolls were only the beginning of food woes. The appetizers were lack luster. The super hard "boneless chicken wings" were tossed in a cold BBQ sauce, the potato skins were cold and chewy (side note, got up to ask for my sour cream since the waitress went MIA), and the snake bites we hadn't had before so maybe they're supposed to be soft and smushy but I wasn't a fan. The best part of the pick 3 appetizers was the 4th one, the fried pickles, we didn't even order those, but they were hot and crispy. This was removed from our bill as we didn't eat more than just trying each thing. So far, not so good. The boys chicken strips looked delicious. He said they were and even got a to go box for them. Since I've had the steak here before and was unimpressed, this time, I just wanted a burger. It's just as unimpressive. Hard bun, not toasted, just stale. Flavorless and right on the line of undercooked. Had a few bites, but between that and the cold fries, I was done. The wife had a Ceasar salad, and the country fried chicken that she said was OK. Found out why the service was shotty when we saw our waitress was also the bartender. The boy got a "free kids meal" coupon from a trunk or treat that prompted the trip in the first place. Well, they don't tell you that a kids meal is not the same as the ranger meal that's on the menu in the children's section. They ended up honoring the little guys coupon, but just a heads up, as I'm sure he wasn't the only one to receive one. I feel that with the volume of customers they get through the door, they feel that any decent level of kitchen supervision can...
