Let me first say that we usually have a decent experience at a Johnny Rockets franchise location! This location had a plaque on the wall indicating that it was the "200th Location" back in 2007. This was our first time in this location at Westgate. This location Sunday was a real disappointment! Having been in the restaurant/hospitality business for 2 decades as Owners & Management, when you walk into a location, certain things can pop out immediately. They were probably at 20-25% capacity at best, adequate staffing yet the place showed lack of cleaning and sanitizing...and lack of Management oversight! Our waitress looked like she hadn't washed her shirt in days, her apron was filthy and the table we were presented hadn't been bussed properly yet alone, sanitized. They did sanitize it for us. Other server's uniforms looked much cleaner! The kitchen staff was on the ball. Our food came out very quickly, 👍👍👍👍👍, hot and had good grill flavor for a couple of burgers, the Original with fries and their "Route 66" burger with fries. We were looking around as we ate and saw tables that the sides of the table tops were incrusted with food, from not being wiped down properly. Bussing and sanitizing properly was not being properly done, by what we observed during our visit. Our "check presenter" black binder was totally comiing apart with the foam padding falling out and the cover torn back along the thermal seam! No way that this presenter had been sanitized. I gave this visit a 2 Star rating for the promptness and flavor of our food but the apparent lack of Management oversight and lack of proper cleaning protocols being followed kept this visit from being a 5 Star Review! Everyone and every business can have a bad day, but a mid-afternoon visit, with adequate staffing and less than 20% capacity, this location we felt, leaves a lot to be desired, especially in this day of Covid-19 protocols. We always try to support businesses as we can and hardly ever leave a less than desirable review... but this location, on this date and time, left us not desiring to go back... unless they get better at doing their job, for the public's safety. We probably should have gotten our food To Go...as the kitchen staff seemed to be doing their job! For that......
Read moreI should be able to leave zero stars. We came in at 11:15 am for an early lunch on a Sunday (they open at 10:30) There was nobody to seat anyone, two other parties just standing in the doorway waiting for a hostess. We finally get seated by the waitress, and it's a little bit before she comes over again, but not too bad, yet. We order, and start noticing that there is only the cook, and our waitress working, and the cook is working his blank off, running around and stocking things (that should have been done before opening, but....). After the folks before us get their order, we hear the cook yell about an order being up (ours). We watch as our food sits under the heat lamp for about 15 minutes or so, and we're getting upset and ready to just walk out, when all of a sudden people start showing up to work. It's almost noon by now, and three more workers in uniform come traipsing in and begin refilling ketchup containers, checking the empty tables for other condiments (more stuff that should have been done before opening). Our waitress finally slings our plates down and says "Can I get you anything else?". I almost exploded after checking the fries temp (cold) and we said "How about hot french fries, these are cold". Again, I wanted to just walk out, but my dining companion talked me into just eating and never return. Well, about 8 minutes later, after we're done with our burgers and ready to leave, the poor cook comes over with a plate of piping hot fries (so the one star is only because of his great work ethic, she got zero!). I have never in my 35 adult years of life stiffed a server, most of my good friends were in the service industry as was I, but I made an exception here today! I left her the change on the tab, about 73 cents, which was way more than she deserved. Horrible service from the waitress whose name began with a B, maybe Breanna or something like that. Anyway, don't throw your money away at Johnny Rockets, if you want a good burger and fries, go to the Habit or even In and Out are head and shoulders better than this place. They don't properly staff their joint, the servers (not the cook!) have no pride in their job apparently, and the food...
Read moreI'm leaving a one star to get the attention of the appropriate person or people. I'm 57 years old and I love the oldies music. Also the ambience and the food in Johnny Rockets restaurants. However this evening Friday,May 9th ,2025 my family and I went into your restaurant about 8:30 p.m. ,because my son had just graduated college. By 9:00 p.m. our food had not been served, and during the last 30 minutes I watched three separate couples leave the restaurant because they were waiting to be seated and there was no person to do so. In fact my waitress took our order and i had not seen her since. Finally after a little frustration, I walked up to the kitchen and there was a whole bunch of burgers just sitting there getting cold. At that particular moment my waitress appeared, she grabbed the burgers and brought them to our table. My burger was delicious although it was not hot and just barely warm due to it sitting ,waiting for the waitress. One of the burgers out of the four had no cheese and had human hair in it. This Burger just happened to be for my son who just graduated from Estrella Community College. The problem I see as an old man is that you hired all these young kids barely out of high school and you had no adult supervision to keep them in line. For the entire 30 minutes or so we waited for our food, we did not see any of your staff, but a whole bunch of people were coming out from the back. So much so ,I got off my booth and went around the corner to see if there was more tables were customers would sit. My guess would be there was a bunch of kids in the kitchen who weren't supposed to be there, that's why your waitresses and waiters were nowhere to be found. I will definitely eat at Johnny Rockets again, just never will be at that particular store. Michael...
