First time coming here on a date night with my husband, and we will NEVER be back. Not because of the food or the service, but because of an interaction we witnessed amongst a manager and their employee. I am a successful business owner myself of 25 years now, and if I treated employees this way, I wouldn't be able to keep employees around long enough to be profitable or beneficial to my business. We weren't sure what was leading up to this confrontation, but this older woman with glasses and gray hair, starts laying into her employee about where the employee had been for the last 40 minutes. It gets pretty loud and she is laying into the employee, without giving her so much as time to answer the question. Personally, with quite a few other employees and guests around, overhearing this conversation, I felt it was inappropriate to not take this girl into the back or the office to speak with her personally. Rather then doing it publicly in the main dinning area, while everyone is watching and listening. We see the girl hand over her things, as the manager is telling her to leave the facility. Shortly after this interaction, we just weren't in the mood to stay and look at that manager, after seeing how disgustingly she handled her employee. So we go outside to leave and see the girl, sitting outside, very upset and crying. I told my husband to wait in the car so I could speak with her about the interaction, and that we saw the whole thing. The employee told me that she had gotten sick, and was in the restroom for maybe 25 minutes, cleaning herself up because she's currently six weeks pregnant, with her fifth child. She also told me that the manager didn't even care for an explanation or to talk to her personally, instead of making it publicly known, that she was being sent home. This employee also told me that she's a single mother of 4 and now 5 children, and needed this job. One of her children is currently undergoing cancer treatments at Phoenix Children's hospital and holds/held three jobs to make ends meet. I asked her if she'd had any warnings or did she know she was in trouble, and she was completely blind sided. I couldn't imagine working for such an employer that they are so quick to fire people who are actually trying to just stay above the surface and are doing their best with the situations given. Very saddening to see such a great place, with awful and cruel management. Always give people a chance, when you don't know how hard they are trying to get by. I offered this girl a job with my company because I can see how scared she was, not knowing how she will now make ends meet. We are very disappointed in your choice of management, as we spoke to another couple, who felt the same. That manager was completely unprofessional and not one anyone would like to work for. Good luck with that choice and type...

Upon arrival, all courts were occupied due to a private event, this was initially not an issue as members of the private party kindly allowed my family to use a court. However, our enjoyment was violently cut short when the manager Maci approached us. She immediately and aggressively threatened to call the police for trespassing.
Maci was completely unwilling to listen to our attempts to explain the situation. My uncle offered to pay several times (a gesture made solely to de-escalate the rapidly deteriorating situation, as we shouldn't have been paying for a court that the group had already rented), but despite this she persisted in harassing us. The situation was then drastically escalated by Maci, who brought in security and later the police.
This visit was meant to be a joyous occasion as I was visiting for the holidays, and my family, who frequents the establishment, was excited to share their favorite fun place with me. To have my first experience so utterly tainted and ruined by the manager's actions was truly devastating.
To understand the social and political climate in this country is to grasp what escalating an easily dismissible issue to law enforcement can mean for Black Americans in America. I am compelled to state the painful truth my family were the only people of color present at the time, and the treatment we received was drastically different from that afforded to other guests.
The emotional toll was immediate and crushing, not understanding the situation my little cousins were reduced to tears as they watched their father being belittled and dehumanized (first by the manager and then by law enforcement). There are simply not enough words to convey the depth of the hurt, frustration, and humiliation my family had to endure during what was supposed to be a fun night out.
As a result of Maci’s reckless and extreme behavior, my family is now emotionally scarred and deeply shaken up by this entire ordeal. It is profoundly saddening that this has been my first, and what may be my last interaction with Chicken N Pickle.
Maci, you must do better. Chicken N Pickle, you must choose...

We’re talking family-friendly from toddlers to grandparents, and everything in between. The vibe is upbeat and welcoming — no pressure, just fun.
Pickleball courts are only $5 to rent, and they have indoor and outdoor courts all in one area. The outdoor courts are covered, with fans, TVs, lighting, misters, and shade everywhere. You can play, take a break, and chill under the shaded areas while watching others play.
There are tons of outdoor games, a full bar, and a solid food menu that’s both kid-friendly and health-conscious — perfect for all kinds of eaters.
Barry and Cam are absolute standouts — the kind of team members every company wishes they had but rarely find in this industry. They're not just helpful and organized, they genuinely enjoy what they do and it shows in every interaction. Their positive energy, professionalism, and authentic care for guests elevate the entire experience. It's rare to come across staff who take such pride in their work and make you feel like you're part of their community. Barry and Cam are true assets to the company and a big reason we'll keep coming back.
They also host a new event every weekend to give back or support the community. We happened to be there for a puppy adoption event (which we tried to ignore but 100% failed — those little faces pull you right in). It’s just another example of how this place blends fun and heart into everything they do.
Helpful tip: If you plan to play pickleball, it’s smart to reserve a court through their app. We used it and were lucky — late March wasn’t too crowded — but it was still busy, and walk-up availability isn’t guaranteed during peak times.
In short, there’s no reason not to have a great time here. Whether you're playing, spectating, sipping, or just soaking up the good energy, Chicken N Pickle is...
