Awful experience when we went a couple days ago. We had plans for after dinner so we joined the wait list online to make sure we had plenty of time. When we joined the waitlist, it said 15-25 mins. So we arrive at the restaurant almost exactly 15 mins later and are greeted by the server who we told that we joined the waitlist online. She tells us “it will be about 15-25 mins.” Okay that’s weird because we had already been on the list but didn’t think much of it and asked if we would receive a text when the table is ready and we were told yes. That’s fine, so we go sit in the car for almost 25 mins and then get a strange text asking “will you still be joining us tonight?” And we respond to the text and say yes. Well at that point we go inside and are greeted by the same host that says “hi, how many tonight?” As if she had never seen us before??? So we say, “well we already checked in with you a while ago but we got this weird text asking if we’re still coming?” She then tells us “oh okay don’t worry about that, we got you checked in, it will be about 15-25 mins, you will get a text.” Well that’s weird we’re being told that AGAIN, but we go sit and wait, AGAIN for another 20-25 mins, watching table after table get sat. We go back to the hostess, who once AGAIN acts as though she’d never seen us and asks how many for the table?? We once again explain that we’ve already checked in and get told, once again, “oh okay it will be about 15-25 mins.” What??? We explain we’ve been told this several times now, the manager steps in and hits something on the hostess iPad, and then all of a sudden we get a text that we’re checked in? Are you freaking kidding??? Why were we not actually checked in before and why did we just wait all this time for nothing? I will say the manager had us seated immediately after all that. But then you would think maybe we’d be somewhat of a priority after being out through all of that? Nope, we wait over 10 mins just to be greeted by the server to order drinks. It had been such a fiasco at this point that we rush through our food (the food was good as usual) ask for the check and leave. We were never given an apology of any sort. I strongly don’t recommend...
Read moreI am torn with what rating of stars to leave. I have waited for Oregano's to come to the west valley for a long time. I have frequented the other locations when I could or wanted a special treat or dinner. I wrote them to ask if I could invest or if we could get one opened on this side of town. They responded and said we are in luck and one will be opening soon. So by seeing and hearing that a restaurant was opening up in this area was great news. I expected a bit of a rush after opening a new restaurant. But after coming back a couple more times and still having a one and a half to two hour wait on a night that should be slower, I was surprised. I was even more surprised to get inside and remember how small the building they decided to use really is. I had been in there before when it was fast food. They did a good job on design, but the space is still too small for a restaurant like this. After we waited two hours for the birthday dinner to be seated (Granted we had a larger party so I accepted the wait) we were split up into booths instead of the table along the wall or a patio set up. Waitress was good but seemed a bit like she was bothered with us being there and probably just tired from not being able to stop. Also we were a little shocked that a common drink we ordered was not served there. We have found that they have a limited bar and few ingredients. When we received our food it was just as good and fresh as any of the other restaurants we have been to previously and took a little of the edge off. Bottom line can probably be summed up with this. Why would they open a restaurant of this caliber with such a small building/venue? I hope the answer is something as simple as to see if it would be a success on this side of town and then invest in a larger building. Who knows, but this does need to be resolved. I have walked a way a couple times and I am sure others probably have too. No need to throw away good business over...

Prior to arrival I had put our name on the wait-list via their website. I received a text while we were on our way to press one of we were on our way. I pressed one..soon after I received a text that we were being taken off the wait-list for not replying... But if we were still on our way to press 1. So I did again. Arrived and was told they couldn't see the outgoing texts and only could see my 1. So we were removed from the wait-list. What?! So we go to wait.... We had 2 adults and 4 kids.
The waiting area is super small. No room unless you want to go outside.. which in the middle of summer... No one wants to do.
After waiting about 10 minutes we finally got seated but it was in an area outside the main dining area. It almost looked like they remodeled and enclosed the patio... And that's where we were sat. Not the usual Oregano ambiance.
Then we placed our order and waited... And then waited. Now I'm used to waiting if we ordered a deep dish pizza, but even in the most busy point, we haven't had to wait long for our food. So after waiting about 30 minutes for our food I was starting to wonder if we had been forgotten about
It finally came out but I discovered our server had missed half my order completely. I had ordered a salad andnth zany ziti. The ziti was MIA. Not only they buy my son's (all 3 that ordered it) had undercooked angel hair pasta... Now remember, we waited for 30 minutes... To have undercooked angel hair takes some work... It is one of the fastest cooking pastas....
This was a very disappointing experience and will probably result in us not coming back to Oregano's again. Sad to see this company not caring about customers..their reviews on other platforms are also poor yet they appear to have done nothing to fix...
