We were super curious about this stand because we always see a line of people near it. We decided to give it a try. Their menu seemed to range from fries to burritos to burgers. Since I felt like a burger for lunch, I ordered a double cheeseburger and my wife ordered a hamburger (one patty, no cheese). My daughter opted for the chicken quesadilla.
Double Cheeseburger ($7.55): I asked how big the patties were and the guy taking the order said they were 4 oz patties and compared them to In-N-Out's patties. These facts don't line up, so I told him the In-N-Out patties are 2 oz. He showed me their patties and they looked like 2 oz. patties to me. I went ahead and ordered myself a double cheeseburger, and I'm glad I did because the patties were 2 oz and not 4 oz. The burger came with lettuce, onion, tomato, and pickles, but somehow lacked the tastiness of an In-N-Out Double Double even though it was $7.55 plus tax and tip. It was also overly salted and I wouldn't rate it above average and certainly not worth the price.
Single Hamburger ($5.50) - The hamburger wasn't as salty (perhaps it was just a case of the guy manning the grill being uneven with the seasoning). I can’t get over the fact that It's more expensive than a Double Double and $2.15 more than an equivalent hamburger from the In-N-Out a couple blocks away.
Chicken Quesadilla ($10.55) - my daughter liked it enough that she said she really enjoyed her lunch and also insisted on eating all of the quesadilla. I didn’t think the portion was that much - it seemed like it wasn’t much food for the price, but since I don’t get to taste it, I can’t really judge the quality. My daughter seemed very happy with it though.
Perhaps the key to the burgers is to add an egg ($1.25) or bacon ($1.50) or avocado ($1.65), but then you’re eating a $10 burger that doesn’t even come with fries. Or maybe we should have ordered the fries with carne asada or bacon and egg...
Read moreIt was a busy night so it didn't bother me that the food service was slow or that the workers were working to get orders out; however, I didn't appreciate how the workers didn't care to fix an incorrect order or to admit that they messed up on the order at all. When asked for a shorted bottle of water, the worker (who had her back turned to the service window) told me with an attitude to go order one if I wanted one. When I told her that I already did, she had to verify the order and then brought the water out without any acknowledgement of the mistake. In addition to the shorted bottle of water, the cashier who was taking the orders left out a part of the order and I had to order and wait for it. There were many mistakes made with several other customers and the workers were reluctant to fix their issues as well. I think this team needs to work on the way that they delegate orders and fix errors. If the music is too loud for the cashier to hear the orders, then accommodations should be made for her to be able to work more efficiently. The customers shouldn't be made to feel like they were at fault for this business's errors. The novelty of this establishment is unique but the quality of customer service is so poor that I wouldn't...

There’s very limited parking in the attached lot, however, there’s paid parking lots right around the corner, and across the street.
I was looking for some place different to eat that wasn’t the regular chain restaurants. After passing multiple chain restaurants, some inside/attached to the mall, some in the surrounding area, I stumbled upon The Great White Hut!
This place definitely looked unique, especially compared to the other nearby food places. There were a few bar stools attached to the building to go along with a couple picnic bench type seating up against the Central Avenue Pharmacy.
The person taking my order was friendly and answered any question I had about some menu items with a smile.
I decided to go with the triple bacon cheeseburger, cheese nachos, and a coke! The burger was great, full of soo much juicy flavor, and the nachos were no joke either. The cheese was good, but I think it’s the chips that just make it taste so much better.
Next time you’re in the area, skip the chain restaurants and swing by The Great White Hut, you won’t be...
