Very rare experience. Walked into a real-estate signing with a VIP. Sat down at a table. We were there barely 2 minutes and Mateo an employee came over, did not say excuse me, just interupted our conversation and said. "YOU CAN ONLY SIT HETE IF YOU ARE GOING TO BUY SOMETHING". Although surprised, we did acknowledge Mateo and answered to say we'd buy some at the end of our transaction. About 5 minutes went by, and Mateo rudely interrupted us again, no excuse, me just started talking at us AGAIN. To say she have given us plenty of time to make a purchase also. We were shocked to be addressed 2 times in less than 5 mins about making a purchase.
I interrupted Mateo and said "May I give you some feedback?" Mateo said " sure " I quickly explained when addressing people you should say excuse me or hello, good morning so that the person knows you are speaking to them. She heard me but then went on to say ")"I gave a you a few minutes you still haven't made a purchase. Starbucks policy that you must order if you are going to sit here" I said " we are in the middle of an important transaction and this is the 2nd time youve interrupted us. We will make a purchase once we complete the transaction. I also added we only came to starbucks because the HOA clubhouse was locked"
We did finish our transaction and continued to the counter WHERE Mateo was at the register when we ordered two drinks and a slice of lemon cake. . I said " I would like to apologize if we were offensive. Our goal was to transact a very important set of documents and we never intended to NOT make a purchase." Mateo said oh ok.
Honestly, this experience is WHY Starbucks is overrated. When you look around you see ton of folks sitting there pajamas, using the WIFI for FREE and a WITH AN empty drink.
This was not us being rude it was that we were racially profiled. I'm sure this could have been handled completely differently with tact, professionalism and unargumentitively
I don't reccomend this Starbucks location for a meeting place...
Read moreI read all the reviews and people are so whiny and acting entitled!!! Terrible customers acting like they’re elite; letting it out on the hard working baristas. Customers who do not realize these baristas are having to face limited amount of help/support due to fellow partners calling out, sick, running late (they are HUMAN) and not only that but for this high traffic store this greedy-billion-dollar corporation only has two espresso machines. These barista have to make drive-thru orders, cafe orders, delivery orders and mobile orders. one order can possibly have about 5 to 20 items in them. Instead of complaining; at the baristas (who are already working as fast and hard as they can, they’re probably burnt out from peak) you the customers; should be angry at the CEO for not providing more espresso bars and machines!!! For cutting their labor and not supporting by allowing more staff/bodies/help on the floor. For not establishing a team for just sanitization (every restaurant has their own group of people who focus just on santization or prepping.) Your barista has to make drinks, clean their station, hand off drinks, prep, and stop the flow/process to listen to a whiny customer act entitle, and so much more. They don’t have just “one job, to make a drink.” They are doing their best and they are so kind and they make my drink correctly and if they make a human mistake, I don’t care. I appreciate them and their hard work and if they ever unionize I would support them!!! The customers don’t realize what these baristas have to do to keep the store clean, make drinks and deal with whiny customers all at once. There are other places that can make better coffee if you’re not happy...
Read moreThis Starbucks is to be avoided at all cost. Listen, I am not unsympathetic to how sucky working in customer service, or fast food is. But this Starbucks is the absolute worst fast food/Starbucks/drive-thru place in the entire Maricopa county area. The service is awful, every single person I come in contact with whether it’s the drive-thru, or in the café, is in the absolute in the worst mood. The drive-thru takes a minimum of 20 minutes no matter what time you go or how many people are in the line up. There is no sense of urgency, there is no “customer focused” customer service, and everybody has bad attitude. I live in the area, so it’s the closest one to me and every time I go (which is almost never now, because I never have an extra 45 minutes in my day to wait on a coffee when there are so many other establishments I would rather spend money in) I cross my fingers and am always disappointed.
Save yourself the headache and go to Black Rock or the numerous mom and pop shops that are all in the area or five minutes...
