Ordered online for 1 person. Salad and a sandwich. With a nice tip for the Grubhub delivery driver it was over $50. I opened the salad and found only 2 ingredients, bacon and a few slices of the fresh mozzarella (optional). There was no lettuce, spinach or vegetables of any kind! I have the order that shows a BLT salad with all of the ingredients I had ordered. I called the store and was told that the only ingredients that I ordered were extra bacon and fresh mozzarella. I made clear that I had ordered a full salad with many ingredients. The woman on the phone became extremely combative immediately and made it clear that the only ingredients that were in the salad I ordered were bacon and fresh mozzarella. She made it clear that there was nothing that they could do about it. She made it clear that obviously I had made a mistake. She hung up on me. This raised my hackles. I called back and asked to speak with the manager. I was told that there is no manager. I was told that the stores are independently owned. I asked to speak to the owner. I was told that the owner “Tong” does not care. I was then hung up on again. I called from a different number and asked for the regional managers phone number. I was told that they had already contacted their regional manager and that she did not care. She said that the store staff had done the right thing. Fifty dollars is a lot of money for a sandwich and salad. It would have been so easy to make it right. Offer a refund or a store credit. Have the salad that I bought delivered. But instead I was belittled, told I had not placed my order correctly, even though I have a copy of the correct order on my phone. There are many options out there. Nobody should be treated the way that the Glendale Subway staff treated me. To be told that the regional manager was informed and doesn’t care? To be told that the owner couldn’t care less? Maybe the stories about Subway are true. Maybe their corporate culture is really that toxic. Maybe they are going under. It’s too bad, I hadn’t had one of their subs for a while. I was really looking forward to it. I obviously didn’t get what I expected. I am still a bit shocked by the rudeness and lack of consideration shown by these folks. The only thing that I can think is that it must be a awful place to work. I wouldn’t want to see a dog treated the way I was treated by the #Glendale Subway. Do your self a favor and spend your hard earned...
Read moreThis location is not the worst subway location I've been to, but it is far from the best. The ingredients are always mashed up and seemingly dirty. When I chose my toppings, I tend to chose whatever looks the cleanest. Plus, the employees are a special breed. One of the employees I see outside in the back by the dumpsters, smoking a bowl with the a&w/kfc employees and the kitchen employee and rushes through your ordering process to return to his friends out back. Another employee has a homeless friend that comes in and naps at the tables whenever he is working while his shopping cart is sitting outside the front door. I have never had any personal issues with any of the employees here, but it is not a place that I would label as a "Nice" subway restaurant. Update: in the past year, this drug trading post...i mean, homeless shelter...i mean subway has become entirely unbearable to visit. I used to order food from here a minimum of once per week but I have, since, completely stopped going here and I have multiple coworkers that have done the same for the same reason. In the evenings, there is always homeless people camped out in front of the door sitting on the ground and they expect you you appease them by squeezing past them and they just leave all of their "stuff" all over the place. On top of that, the employees let a few of them sleep inside and there are usually a few out back hanging out smoking with the kitchen employees. The last straw was when I saw a young homeless man having (seemingly) a seizure while sleeping at one of the tables. I asked the employee "is he ok? Or just drugs?" And the employee just looked at me sideways and said "don't worry about it". I'm just done with this place entirely. Just be forewarned before you...
