It used to be one of my go to markets for unique European food, but last time I went there to shop in the hight of corona pandemic, while they had a sign outside asking for people to enter wearing face masks and gloves, inside was a complete different scene. I saw an elder man who was a worker or owner, caughing hard as he was walking down the isle without wearing a facemask, so i cut my shopping short and walked to the register to check out and noticed the cashier, a young woman who wasnt wearing a mask either lecturing the customer in front of me about how the whole pandemic is a hoax. I paid for my items and left and wondered if this is how they behave in the pandemic, I am not sure if they were ever up to the code concerning other health and safety issues, so many things that the customers dont get to see. Now I have realized I can find every item they carry at other Armenian stores nearby and others in Russian stores, so there is absolutely not need to go back...
Read moreI’ve always had a good experience at this local market. The vegetables are always very fresh as are the herbs and other grocery goods. I buy a fair amount of the fresh breads & Lavash that are delivered daily. There’s an amazing selection of preserves and jams in the back of the store too. Some of the frozen desserts are worth checking out too. So good. BONUS!! They carry Bounty bars. That’s worth the stop alone! Support local the money is feeding...
Read moreI have passed by this place often and have never understood what it really was. At work today, we were surprised with some free lunch from the verdugo produce and deli. The meat quality is excellent. The chicken is a bit on the dry side, but the steak and the lule kebab was nice, juicy, and tender.
