My family and I had decided to dine in, the waiter seated us and the seat had food and oil stains from probably the previous diner, I ask the gentleman politely if he could wipe it down for us, they did. Moving on, I ordered an appetizer, the sampler plate (French fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and boneless chicken tenders) & also order an Oreo milkshake for my son, and a lemonade tea to start while we’re still looking at the menu. When they brought out the milkshake there was a piece of something dried on the rim on the cup, I mentioned it to our server and even she said oh the cup is dirty, and changed it for us, which I know all she did was poured into another cup cause in seconds she was back, thats fine I didn’t want to be complicated, the sampler came out and while my family and I were eating, I lifted the paper that the food was sitting on and there was hair, I understand that these things happen it’s common, but aren’t we suppose to wear hair nets if we have hair or slicked back in a tight bun, I have worked at Norm’s restaurant before and they have the rules for hair because of situations like this. At this point we lost our appetite we decided to cancel our dine in, we asked for the manager to just cancel our orders, she said fine, pay for the milkshake cause my son had drank some, and we said a couple sips from a dirty cup? She then was ushering us to move out of the way and instead of finishing her conversation with us she’s helping someone else pay the bill, she kept saying okay bye whatever I don’t care, bye, and she was being super rude, and I asked for the manger and she said she WAS the manager I didn’t get her name but she did have an accent. I know English isn’t her first language, and I never knocked anyone because my mom and dad came from another country, but it doesn’t serve you the right to treat people or customer’s rudely. It just made me not want to come to Denny’s anymore. And I really wanted pancakes. The MANAGER should of learned to deal with complaints better, I wasn’t even being rude or bougie, just my seat was dirty, my son cup was dirty, the hair in my food was upsetting, & instead of trying to ignore us and helping someone else she should of finished her conversation with us so that I wouldn’t be here right now leaving a review about her. Good Luck to anyone else eating here with her attitude and...
Read moreVisiting Denny's on Christmas Day evening at around 6:45 PM turned out to be an experience that left us with mixed feelings. Here’s the breakdown:
Food & Timing:
We ordered the Mac and Cheese Brisket Skillet with a side of pancakes and the Chicken Lickin’ Fried Steak.
After nearly an hour of waiting, our server, Lorraine, kindly informed us that the fried steak was unavailable due to high demand. She offered us a substitute (steak), which we accepted.
The skillet and pancakes were served first, followed by the steak 5-10 minutes later. Unfortunately, the chicken fried steak was warm, but the sides (broccoli and mashed potatoes) were cold.
The brisket skillet was burnt, which diminished the enjoyment.
Service:
Lorraine was the highlight of the experience. She was attentive, sweet, and genuinely apologetic despite the chaos in the kitchen. Her effort to provide good service, even under pressure, was commendable.
Atmosphere:
The kitchen was clearly overwhelmed with the volume of holiday orders. While this is somewhat understandable, it affected the quality and timing of the food.
Management:
Unfortunately, the manager didn’t seem to handle the situation well, which further dampened the experience.
Overall: While Lorraine's excellent service deserves recognition (5/5), the overall experience gets 2/5 stars due to long wait times, cold sides, burnt brisket, and poor management. It’s clear the holiday rush was a significant challenge, but improvements in kitchen efficiency and managerial support could have made a...
Read moreI was waiting to be seated for a few minutes and were not being helped. They then helped a customer pay while we stood there and a girl helped another customer pay. The customer asked if we were there first and apologized. I said that I was there first but it was fine on him and didn't mind, because I didn't. The girl helping them then said, "no, he wasn't here. it's fine. he wasn't here." I said I was but didn't mind but didn't like being called a liar. he apologized to me again and i said it was fine he went first. I was annoyed she said I wasn't there. after that, she still says, "no, they were not here first." raising her voice and giving me a dirty look. I go there often and I have seen her argue with customers similar ways before but never really took a side because I didn't see too much. She continued to talk to the customer as if I was a liar as I was being helped by a guy. I decided to leave. I won't be coming back to this location any further. People lying or acting like this causes a lot of personal and business issues and I am strictly against this type of attitude. I really hope something gets done. It has nothing to do with the customer, very little to do with them not helping us first, and way more to do with her way of dealing with this, interfering with a conversation that was between me and a customer and acting...
