A Culinary Roller Coaster at Grand Burger
As a seasoned connoisseur of local diners, my recent visit to Grand Burger was akin to riding a culinary roller coaster, complete with highs, lows, and unexpected turns.
First, let's talk ambiance. The restaurant's interior had a certain 'je ne sais quoi' if by that you mean a noticeable need for a spring clean. Yet, what it lacked in sparkle, it made up for in service. The staff were friendly and helpful– kudos for that.
Now, onto the main event – the food. The menu promised a feast fit for a king, but what we got was more of a jester's offering. The cheeseburger was like a B-movie: you don't expect much, and it still manages to underwhelm. Then came the chili cheeseburger, where the chili was as watery as our hopes for a gourmet experience. A culinary mystery – was it soup, sauce, or a beverage?
The side dishes were a mixed bag. The fries seemed to have taken a long, contemplative bath in oil, emerging soggy and introspective. The fried zucchini was average; a solid C-minus student in the world of deep-fried veggies. But lo and behold, the onion rings were the knight in shining armor – crispy, golden, and utterly redeemable.
In conclusion, Grand Burger is the kind of place you go to test the strength of your digestive system and your sense of humor. The friendly staff and decent onion rings prevent it from being a total kitchen nightmare, but it's safe to say that the rest of the menu won't be winning any Michelin stars soon. Would I go...
Read moreThis place has been around for a long time and I have been coming here for about 6 years. It's a standard burger joint that serves breakfast & dinner combos. One of the things I like about this joint is the convenience of call-ahead ordering, which I do on days when I don't want to cook & I'm on my way home from work, quick stop, pick up & go. One of my faves to order is the Cobb salad. This thing is ginormous and serves two for a full meal, or as a side it's good for up to 5 people. It comes with warm toasted pita bread & salad dressing of your choice. I've had their burgers, which are decent in flavor & size. It beats the flavorless (or overly fake flavored) foods of the commercial franchises. My friend had the fish & chips dinner combo, which could feed two people. It comes with fries but we substituted zucchini fries (which is my fave) for a more "healthy" option, and this combo comes with a small salad-crisp & fresh, warm pita bread & a fountain drink. This spot is better than the arches, wanna-be royalty & red-headed fast foods. It is comparable to that farmer's franchise. Overall not bad for a fast food house, so get out there & keep expanding those taste buds. Choose your faves & share....
Read moreOrdered a Taco Salad with "NO" sour cream in the drive thru on 5/6/25 at approx. 4:03 pm. They used to offer extra guacamole if you didnt want sour cream but now charge $3.39 for a spoonful, which is fine as the choice to pay it or do without is mine. What I discovered upon arriving home was a taco salad put together upside down and slathered in sour cream. The shell was either half cooked and/or stale. The lettuce was on the bottom under the hot beans and luke warm meat. There was "NO" Cheese, 4 tomato slices, salsa and extra sour cream. Having been a customer for 30+ years, I wanted to be fair and let a manager know about the situation. I called Grand Burger at 4:21 pm and asked to speak to a manager. Of course, I was told there was no manager on duty. I left my name and phone number and asked to have the manager contact me. It's now been more than 48 hours and no response. The disgusting salad with slimmy cooked lettuce has gone out with the trash and I am now letting others know of the poor service and...
