I didn’t give a star for the food because we never received our food. My family of 4, 2 adult and 2 kids, went to ihop for dinner this evening. We wanted some comfort food in this rain.
We stood in the lobby for a while before anyone greeted us. While we waited, 3 waitresses were standing in the back all discussing something. When we finally greeted, the waitress asked 3? Missing my other kid. She sits my family of 4 down in a booth made for 2 people. I didn’t notice it at first, but I felt crowded and realized only 2 people were in the same booths as us.
The waitress who sat us, took our drink order. Then she was gone a while. Another waitress comes by and greets us and asks for our drink order. My husband explained someone else had taken it, but it had been a long time. This waitress was like that’s not right, I’m so sorry. She took our drink and food order.
Then we waited. And waited.
The first waitress comes back with our drinks. She let me know they were brewing fresh decaf and would bring my coffee out when it was done. My husband let her know a different waitress also took our drink order and food order. Seriously, it had been over 15 minutes since we’d seen the 1st waitress. He described the waitress and they got it figured out.
Then we wait. And wait. And wait.
I told my husband I would switch to regular coffee just to get some. He kept watching for a waitress so he could ask her for a mug.
And we waited. And waited. While we waited, we could hear the kitchen staff. Sounded like they had an issue. Multiple serves were bringing out pieces of other tables’ meals.
After we had been in ihop for 1hr, my husband left money on the table for our drinks and we walked out. I’ve never done that before. But who knows if a server ever even put in our order. I waited at least 45 minutes for a freaking coffee and never got it.
My kids were hungry and grumpy. And sad they didn’t get to have pancakes. We went across the street to chick-fil-a and were headed home in about 7 minutes.
We will not be back to ihop...
Read moreWorst experience! I ordered online for curbside pickup. It said to park in curb side pickup and call them when I arrive. When I placed my order it gave me a pickup time. I arrived to find no designated curb side pickup area so parked and called. I was put on hold while he checked my order and was told it would be another 5 minutes. I asked where to park and was told out front. I waited and in 5 minutes my phone rang and I saw it was IHOP but after one ring it disconnected. I tried to call them back on the line that worked fine for me when I arrived and a female answered. I spoke to her and then heard her say hello like she couldn't hear me and she hung up. I waited another 5 minutes and went inside. I was told by a young man that he tried to call me on two different phones to tell me they were out of one of the items I ordered. Really? Why wasn't I told that on first first phone call rather than it would be ready in 5 minutes. Why didn't he walk out to my car (description on the order) to tell me this when his alleged phone calls didn't work. Nope just left me out there. I then asked for my money back and told them to cancel the order only to be told he couldn't return my money as that was handled at a different location. I requested my money again so he got a GM for me who was very very nice. She was so apologetic and horrified at my story. She immediately got on the phone and called whoever returns the funds and it was back in my account immediately. She also offered me two free breakfasts but we don't eat in restaurants right now so that offer won't be utilized. I was also told that curb side was going away so that's why there were no designated parking spots. Seems like that should have already been removed as an option online if the parking was gone. Read moreWe had absolutely terrible service. We had a party of 14 on a Saturday night. We were assigned two waitresses. Instead of working together to serve us as 1 party, one waitress took half of the table, the other took the other half. One waitress took drink and food orders at the same time, the other did drinks and then took food orders after she had already gotten our drinks. This is where things went south. Because of the way they did it, one half of the table got their food first, while the other half of the table was told the food was coming up. The first round of food was pathetic. 3 burgers were ordered and the toppings were all wrong. It also looked like they split one serving of fries among all 3 plates. The burger plates literally looked like kids meals. Fast forward to 15 minutes later. We have now been here for over 1 hour. One half of the table is done eating and the waitress is already handing out checks while the other half is still waiting for food. We asked 4 different times where our food was and every single time it was “being plated.” Then one of the waitresses come up to me and say they messed up my eggs and are redoing them. A breakfast restaurant messed up eggs… what?… we wait another 5 minutes and food finally comes out, but they forgot to make my fiancés omelet. SERIOUSLY!? We were FED up. They also have this kids eat free thing and tried to charge us for every single kids meal. They even tried charging us adult prices for children drinks!!
