I have been happy with the service from Dr Tate and this company for several years. When I had my last eye exam I also ordered 6 months of contacts, prescription glasses and prescription sunglasses. I specifically asked about the sunglasses because I have an astigmatism and was concerned the lenses would be too thick. I was assured that since I ordered the polycarbonate lenses, “that my prescription was not severe enough to have coke bottle lenses”. When they called to say the sunglasses were ready my husband picked them up because it is extremely hard for me to take off work. First and foremost I couldn’t see well out of them because they made my eyes cross and pulled my focus to the top of the lenses causing me to get dizzy. The lenses were so thick that they were actually thicker than the frames of my plastic glasses, close to 1/2 inch thick and they had a red tint not black. I decided that I would try driving in them since that is what I bought them for. When I was changing lanes and looked over my shoulder I couldn’t see anything out of lower outside part of the lens because it was all blurry. I gave up on wearing them and took them back. When I told them my concerns this is what they said, “ takes a couple days to get used to them, they are blurry and thick because they have a curve in them where they wrap around.” When I disagreed that a few days would not make me be able to see they finally asked me what happens when I look out of the lenses. They decided the focal points were in the wrong places and the lenses needed to be remade but weren’t sure if anything could be done about the thickness. I told them that I wanted them to call me Monday after they spoke to the lens company (this was on Friday). So, 10 weeks later I had never heard back on the issues and called them. The head of the glasses department, which is the person who I had ordered my glasses from and told me they wouldn’t be thick, told me she would call me, now tells me she never did anything with them but that I can come in and get plastic glasses frames and they would put new lenses in them. (I don’t want plastic frames that’s why I didn’t get them in the first place). I was finally able to get time off work yesterday Feb 21 Now I am being told I only had 60 days to file a complaint. Since we returned the glasses the same week, made the issues I wanted corrected more than clear, and requested a follow phone call it would seem that I had made a complaint. Keep in mind that 60 days would have ended during the 10 weeks that they were holding my sunglasses “fixing” them yet they admittedly didn’t do anything to them when I called them to ask why they haven’t called me yet. Now they are blaming me for the issue (like I made the lenses). I told them to give the frames to someone who needs them because I am done dealing with this issue. Between the glasses, sunglasses and contact I ordered in September I spent over $1000.00 and I only wore the pair of sunglasses for 10 minutes. I hope you enjoyed the money you made off the glasses because it has cost you a family of 4 that has been seeing Dr. Tate...
Read moreWorst experience EVER! Gave them a pass in March when we first ordered glasses for my daughter and it took almost a month to get them in, the office attempted to make the situation better by giving us a free pair to use until the first paid-for pair came in (they both got in the same day, so the only benefit it provided was a back-up pair) Fast forward 5 months, and we now need to have a warranty claim done on her glasses due to an incident at daycare with them. I contacted Insight 2 weeks ago, exactly, to get them ordered. I didn’t hear anything from them, so I followed up the next Friday (1 1/2 weeks later), and was told they would call the lab and check. I got a text reply back the lab was closed and they would contact me the Monday of the next week(this week). I went into the office Monday to get a face-to-face confirmation of when my child’s glasses would be in, only to be told they couldn’t get in contact with the lab. Insight did contact me later that morning with an ETA stating the frames would be in Tues or Wed. I gave them until today (Wed) reached out and they STILL didn’t have them. I was told they would check with the lab for tracking and I heard nothing within an hour so I physically went to Insight. Upon arrival I was told it would now be Friday before the frames arrived. After seeing how upset I was, I was provided with the name and phone # of the frame manufacturer to contact them myself to find out why it has been 2 weeks since the frames were ordered and they still hadn’t arrived. I contacted the frame manufacturer while standing in the eye center, only to be told the frames were just ordered the Friday before. They lied directly to my face, and then Dr Tate stood there and backed their lies. I will NEVER do business here again, and I would highly recommend you don’t either. The other positive reviews are given as a request “paid-for” reviews if you will, so take those with a grain of salt. Steer clear of this business and it’s bad...
Read moreI had my first appointment with Dr. Tate this afternoon and it was absolutely phenomenal. From the time that I called to schedule my appointment until the moment that I left. They girls over the phone and when I walked in made me feel as I made the right decision. That said, I received a recommendation from a very prominent specialist and it didn’t disappoint. It was the very first time in almost twenty years that I felt comfortable leaving a facility. I have to admit that I she some tears and they handled it perfectly. Everyone made me feel as I was at home and the time that Dr. Tate and he’s staff took with me is unheard of with any doctor that I have seen recently. When people mention “bedside manner”, I felt absolutely comfortable throughout the entire process. I was diagnosed with Optic Neuritis approximately five years ago and frankly I was scared to walk through the door as at this point I am unwilling to receive additional news that would affect my livelihood. Dr. Tate and Dr. Davis took their time and reassured that everything was going to be okay. I also spoke with three other assistants and another doctor throughout the process and I will never be able to show them my appreciation. I would absolutely recommend them and look forward to my follow up a month from now due to how thorough they were throughout the...
