So where do I even start? I came in for my first tattoo ever, I was was a little nervous at first but Taylor made me feel very comfortable and assured me it would be totally fine even offered me a drink to calm my nerves (non alcoholic). The whole process from submitting my design ideas to tweaking some aspects was super smooth. Taylor came up with alternative solutions to make sure it came out looking amazing and it sure did. She even took the time to place the stencil on my arm till it was in the perfect position (at least 8 times) so it looked super straight on my forearm. As for the shop it is beautiful the aesthetic alone of the place is amazing. It’s super clean and the tables were incredibly soft and comfortable. The other artists that were there are super friendly and nice, they were all super excited to see and share each others work that was done. It just felt very welcoming and homey. Listen up. I’ve had several good tattoo experiences, with a variety of artists. However, my experience with Taylor (and her studio/staff) was far superior. The attention to detail is ASTOUNDING. The studio is inviting, clean, light, airy. It felt like being at a spa. Everyone was warm, and inviting. Kind of like the tattoo experience of endless Brunch mimosas with your besties. Taylor carefully curated the stencil of my peice until the size, orientation, and details were perfect. She was very light handed, and open to feedback as the peice progressed. I am more happy with her work every day, and will have a really hard time going any place else. I've been getting tattoos for the last 6 years or so, typically flying to other cities/states for specific artists who specialize in fine line and micro realism work. I've been desperately hoping to find someone in Columbus that specializes in this style locally, and I couldn't be happier to have found Taylor at Ultra Shade. I've gotten 2 different pieces from her now - a fine line font tattoo and a shaded/microrealism one - each is incredibly detailed and exactly what I was hoping for or better. Taylor is easy to talk to you, the space is well appointed, clean and stylish. It's a nice place to kill a couple hours!
