Agave & Rye Grandview — Restaurant in Grandview Heights

We visited Agave & Rye in Grandview for my husband’s birthday, and it was the most delightful dining experience—ever! Not only does Agave & Rye feature the most creative and vibrant decor, but they also have the kindest and most attentive staff.

Our family of four arrived later in the evening to avoid the crowds and were warmly greeted by the manager, who seated us in Erica’s section. Our youngest is nine and has autism with very specific food preferences. When his grilled cheese and fries came out, the sandwich wasn’t what he wanted, and the fries had cilantro on them, which he won’t touch. So, I figured I’d just whip him up something to eat at home later, like I’ve done countless times before.

Without even knowing about our son’s autism, Erica immediately picked up on the situation and stepped in to help. She had the kitchen adjust the food to better suit his tastes, and when it came back, he was overjoyed. As parents, it was a rare moment where we felt truly understood and supported.

And Erica’s exceptional service didn’t stop there. For my husband’s birthday, she brought out a card signed by the kitchen staff along with a complimentary dessert. Her thoughtfulness and warmth brought me to tears—it was unlike any dining experience we’ve ever had. She even took a moment to play some video games with our son, which made the night extra special.

I can’t express enough how wonderful Erica made this evening for our family. The food at Agave & Rye is incredible, but it’s the outstanding service and genuine kindness that truly make this restaurant stand out. For families, especially those with autistic children, this is a safe and inclusive place where you’ll feel respected and cared for.

New date night spot! My husband and I just tried out the Agave & Rye in Grandview and Absolutely Loved it!! We each got the 3 taco flights. The combination of flavors they put inside a taco were so unique! He ordered the Rooster for a taste of Nashville with mac & cheese and pickles in the taco, the Gangstas slow braised birria beef and the Filthy fajita and when I saw the Rooster taco come out, I knew which one I was going to order next time! I ordered the Skinny Bee for a tropical vibe with the pineapple slaw and hot honey drizzle, then for some Asian flare I got the Dae-Bak and it was De~lious with fried rice, roasted corn and chicken in a sticky sweet sauce, and I also got my favorite Mexican flavors in the Filthy fajita- carne asada steak, caramelized veggies with chipotle crema queso- Hola!! The service was outstanding, quick to bring out our drinks and our server Meiara was so friendly and helpful with her recommendations.... and this is definitely the coolest and most unique atmosphere we've ever eaten in! So many creative things to look around and see! Whoever designed this place has quite the imagination! :-) There were so many delicious sounding items on their menu...we can't wait to go back and try some more! I was starting to give up on going out to eat due to poor customer service or subpar food at most places I’ve visted. But I decided to give agave and rye a chance and I’m so glad I did. From the minute we got there to when we left every part was top notch. The overall atmosphere from the decor to the staffs positive energy was something I hadn’t experienced in so long. I forgot how much I loved to just go eat at a fantastic restaurant and catch up with a friend. Our server was friendly, had helpful suggestions and was attentive at all the right times. There was a small mistake when our food arrived and he was quick to have it remade with no fuss. But then the manager Zach went above and beyond. He personally came to our table make sure our orders were correct and that we were happy. He genuinely wanted us to have a good experience not like he was ‘just doing his job’. It was so refreshing to have exceptional customer service AND delicious food. Everything we ordered was tasty but the carrot cake was the star of the show.
