Beef Cakes — Restaurant in Grants Pass

Overall the owner and the bakery are amazing. I am from the Rogue Valley and love supporting local businesses. I think it’s incredible that they provide vegan AND gluten free options for wedding cakes and desserts. This was an important to me because I am dairy and gluten free with guests that were vegan. The flavor and texture of the cake is phenomenal, our non vegan/gluten free guests loved the cake too and couldn’t taste the difference.

However, I needed to knock off a star due to two reasons:

We ordered macarons because my husband isn’t a big cake person, the macarons were never made/delivered. The owner was apologetic when I followed up after the wedding and provided a refund. I appreciated this greatly and will make me a returning customer! We were definitely let down by this but we all human, things happen. I was told that the design I requested could be easily achieved. I’ve attached a picture of the cake and a screenshot of the Pinterest inspo. I wanted almost watercolor inspired flowers with pearls all over the cake. The flowers and pearls were sparse. Perhaps I didn’t explain well enough what I wanted but I was a bit disappointed.

Again, I completely recommend Beef Cakes for wedding cakes especially for dietary restrictions! I will be a returning customer...

Ordered a cake back in August for my daughter's 18th birthday which was today I sent a photo of the cake online she liked asked if they could do the cake like the photo said no problem. I go to pick up cake today doesn't look like the photo I said I'm not sure what happened with design I said her heart was set on that cake I sent in. The decorator says she never received the picture from her boss just note saying vintage cake I said let me message my daughter a picture of the cake to see if that's going to be ok. They said Well if you wait 45 minutes, we can try to add some detailing, but I had to drive back into Medford for 11am meeting so I couldn't wait they said Well we can just refund it and just take the cake. I would have rather had cake I ordered than refund I was nice get home tonight get a nasty message from owner saying not to order from her again. GLADLY. As soon as we cut the cake the frosting fell off and the cake cracked. No one liked the taste. I wasn't even going to write a review until the owner wanted to say something to me online. I was really hoping to support another local Grants Pass business, but this experience was a huge letdown from start to finish.

I ordered a retirement cake for my mom, a champagne cake with raspberry buttercream. I even followed up by texting the order to confirm. Instead, we received a poppy seed cake with raspberry filling. It wasn’t what we asked for, and most of it went uneaten. On top of that, it wasn’t cheap.

When I went in to place the order, I was told to look through the bakery’s Instagram to choose a cake. There was no menu, no catalog, nothing to reference in-store. I had to download Instagram just to view past cakes and texted a photo of the one my siblings and I all agreed on. What we got wasn’t even close, it was a plain, bare cake with almost no detail.

Really disappointed in the lack of effort and attention to detail.
