This is usually one of our favorite places to visit when we are in town visiting family. Tonight we came for dinner, our last night before heading home. I ordered the Cuban plate, as I always do. I started eating it and noticed it had a large pile of refried beans on it, rather than the black beans it has always had. I asked the cashier who took my order (short, straight dark hair) and she asked if I wanted a side of black beans to go with it. I told her it’s always been served to me with black beans. She said there are multiple types of beans they offer. I asked why she didn’t ask me what I wanted. Once again she offered a side of black beans. I told her I want my plate with black beans, not refried beans. She said they could give me black beans next time we come in 😳 what the hell has happened to customer service? My meal was ruined by the smashed beans, which have a very different taste and texture than black beans. The menu says beans, not smashed beans. My meal should have promptly been fixed, instead I had to pick around the smashed beans to eat what was left of my food, most of my chicken was also ruined. So disappointed. We patron this restaurant every time we visit (which is often) and our family eats here a lot as well. Looks like we need to find a new place…where they cares out there customers and offer to correct their errors. Train your people better to handle these situations - this was so...
Read moreOverall, pretty neat spot. I ordered a Mac attack with oat milk, and a chile rellano wrap. The oat milk flavor was quite strong and overpowered the chocolate and macadamia, may try a different milk next time. The rellano wrap filling was savory and creamy, a cheese pull with each bite. The sausage complimented the chile rellano well, however I did not care much for the tortilla. Will try again a different time without the tortilla. Server was friendly, welcoming and polite, able to answer my questions I had. I sat at the very end of the outdoor patio… unfortunately down wind from the dumpster, pretty loud road noise. Ultimately will come back again to try other menu items and maybe another seat. Dog...
Read moreI have a love/hate relationship with Casablanca. Sometimes it's a 10, and sometimes it's a 3. But LET ME TELL YOU, tonight was 100/10. The downtown location is my favorite. It has a great vibe, somewhat easy access, and more options than the stands on Williams Hwy and Union. But to whomever changed up how the Arroz con Pollo is made/served...THANK YOU! I ordered the box and normally it is in those skinny little rectangle boxes with a slab of "melted" cheese and random chunks of chicken. Tonight, it came in a normal square size togo box with the cheese, chicken, and salsita perfectly spread across the top of the rice. Hands down the best and I always order this one. Way to step...
