I was craving pizza on my drive home from a weekend trip and, passing through grants pass, figured we’d stop here based on the phenomenal reviews and the large number of comments stating best pizza ever. We walked in to a moderately busy restaurant with no staff walking around and just a sign stating to either order at the counter and grab a seat or grab a seat and order on the phone using a QR code. We opted for the table just to save a seat and have some extra time to think. We ordered a slice/salad combo with Caesar salad. The salad was fine but was not Caesar. The only thing Caesar about it was the dressing quite frankly, never seen a Caesar salad with red peppers and artichoke in it???
The pizza itself was alright. The flavor was fine but the crust was dry and hard. I am forever a crust lover but this pizza made me see how some people just don’t like crust. It was way too hard and definitely over cooked. I ended up dipping it in my Caesar dressing to make it edible but it still felt a little like I was eating stale overcooked bread.
The service was… lacking? The only staff we saw was the one person who brought out the food. I’d hardly say there’s service when everything can be done through the phone. It was unclear if customers are expected to bus their own tables but the set up implies as much so we also cleaned up our own table and left the dishes and glasses in the buckets next to the trash.
I don’t love that there are credit card fees associated with all purchases “if using a credit card” for the online payments. There is no option to pay in person or pay cash if ordering online. Would be nice to have that posted somewhere before you get to the final payment page.
Overall I’m not convinced. Just feels like the average pizza by the slice take out place for when you’re in a rush but it’s certainly nothing special. At least the price is ok for what you’re...
Read moreSooo, we live in Klamath Falls and my wife and i are Always looking for good food here and around Oregon. We were searching for a good “pan” style pizza as it is one of my wife’s favorites. Hard to find. We found this place on a google search and decided to come here on our way through to Roseburg and back. We were looking so forward to it. We came, settled in, and were impressed with the decore and cleanliness of bathrooms and the whole place. (Ok, minus the flys. Is that normal here? lol). I would Rate this place a 5 but the lady that took our order at the counter was not friendly at all. Not very welcoming and just didn’t seem to answer questions as i asked Them as i hadnt Been there before.
As my wife and i sat There i told Her unless the food is great I’m not ever coming back. Was just kinda upset how we were just treated.
UNTIL…. We got the food. It was fantastic. I would rate the pizza and dough and flavor a 8.5. And though that wouldn’t guarantee my return here A new gal that had only been there a few weeks came to our table and asked us how everything was. We told her the food was really good. She didn’t stop there. She asked us if we had been in before and took a genuine interest in us. Asked us where we were from and how she started a few weeks ago and enjoyed what she was doing. After talking to us we watched as she took pride in this business and her job. She began wiping the pictures on the walls and just working away as we were eating. Was so great to see. And. Really enjoyed her as we talked. Because of her we will certainly return as we travel north and south on I5. And again. The food was really good too. I would Recommend this place now based on her and the food. Owners!! Good hire with her. Keep her!! She is the main reason we...
Read moreI stopped in on a busy Monday during lunch rush. This was my second time coming to this location. My first experience was excellent as well but quick, and i only got to try the pizza. I brought the wife and my cousin, who had never been before with me this time. We found a spot and ordered way too much food. We started with the garlic knots and the special Philly fries. Knots were very good, so much cheese, and the vodka sauce and the gouda cheese sauce are excellent with them. Philly fries were super good. The steak went well with the fries. My cousin ordered the cheesesteak, which was soft and savory. It was one of the better ones I had on the West Coast.
My wife and I decided on a Detroit style Gangster and a slice of the OG catalyst Detroit style. We also grabbed a fried chicken classic with bacon to take home. The pizza here is very well done, in my opinion. It's crispy and soft at the same time. The hot honey on the gangster changes the whole vibe of the slice. It's so very savory with a hint of sweet and heat. Great combo. The og is a very good traditional slice with delicious toppings. As good as everything else was, my hands down favorite was that chicken sandwich. Perfectly breaded, fried right, the toppings all mingled together so well. Top 3 ever, and I love me some chicken sandwiches. Well done, Catalyst. Bravo.
The service was great, and as busy as they were, that's an added bonus. I expected to wait a while, but the food came out quickly. They have a nice little arcade to kill some time while you wait. All in all, I highly recommend you visit here as soon as you can if local and if traveling get off the 5 and stop here to fill yourself up...
