I was in the area from out of state for work, and this was my first visit to this establishment as a recommendation from a local co-worker. The first thing I noticed was the warm, dimly lit vibe. It was very relaxing and lent a cozy, intimate feel even though the place was busy. The menu was impressive, but so was the long list of specials not shown. We started with a loaf of warm, fresh bread and the house made pickles in a jar right on the table. Both were nice touches, and delicious. Our appetizers were the bacon wrapped bbq shrimp and the seared scallops. Both were delicious but I give the edge to the scallops. Two of us started with the caesar salad. This was the only (temporary) low point in the meal. The salad had whole anchovies on it, which wasn't the problem since I'd never tried one before and wanted to. It was the dressing. It was so salty that we both sent them back. The restaurant manager came out and apologized and told us he and the chef would sample it and get back to us. A short while later he returned and told us they both agreed. It was a new salad guy and a mess up with the dressing recipe, which they would immediately fix. They thanked us and offered a new salad which we declined (mainly because we wanted enough room for the meal and maybe dessert). At this point we were happy with how it was handled, gracefully, and professionally. For the main course, three of us had the filet, one had ribeye. I wanted to get my filet Oscar style, but the $30 price tag to add it on was a little too much for me. YMMV. The filet was awesome, as they usually are at places like this. I tried my friend's ribeye, and while I don't get them because I don't enjoy all the marbling/fat, the flavor was outstanding. The carrot served whole, was cooked enough to be easily cut and enjoyed without having the overcooked texture you find from a pot roast carrot (which I'm also ok with). For dessert we ordered the brownie sundae. It was a warm peanut butter and chocolate brownie with scoops of chocolate and peanut butter cup ice cream, and topped with pecan chocolate butter nut sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry. It is not exaggerating to say this is a dessert sufficient to four adults. Better people than us might have tackled it with two, but we didn't want to regret the evening. I'll also note that with a price of $9 (a steal for its size and its delicious, rich taste), they comped it as another gesture for the earlier salad snafu. All in all, the atmosphere was wonderful, the meal was excellent, and the service eclipsed them both. I was impressed and fully satisfied with how they handled the rejected salads and would absolutely have a meal here again, and recommend anyone in the area spend the money on a wonderful meal experience there.

Tonight's Dining Adventure takes takes us to... Bob’s Steak & Chop House – Grapevine Texas – (9/5/2017) I made my reservation several weeks ago in anticipation of travel. I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t thinking about this for weeks… Zagat Rated… 4.6 Stars on Google with 178 votes… Seriously, what could go wrong?! As I get out of my Uber and approach the front door as if by magic, all the doors open. You get a great Vibe from the moment your foot hits the pavement. Promptly seated and offered a choice of booth or table, tonight I opted for the booth. My server, Keith was amazing. Extremely accommodating and worked the menu to my liking. I wanted less, but more if it. A variation of dishes scaled to size so that I could indulge yet not stuff. Keith’s recommendations were spot on! First out, around loaf of bread served warm with a square of room softened butter…Delicious. I only had a small piece for taste… Next a combination of the Grilled Shrimp wrapped in Bacon and topped with a BBQ Sauce and Seared Scallops over Sautéed Spinach and Garlic topped with Chipotle… Any time there’s Lobster Bisque on the menu, I partake… Rich stock… Chunks of Lobster meat garnished with Onions… Having had Lobstah Bisque in some of the finest restaurants in New England, I must say I was surprised that it was as good as it was. With your eyes closed, you’d swear you were in Maine… Only better that some of the places up there… Wow! For the main this evening… A 9 Oz Prime Filet prepared Medium… Pink center thruout. What can I say, I’m a Filet guy… Served with their signature Glazed Carrot… The first one was a degree or so over but they immediately replaced it with another that was just absolutely perfect. Baked Potato sliced, almost Potato Chip like, sautéed and topped with sautéed Onions and a Peppercorn Sauce… Green Beans Sautéed with Bacon, Onions, Tomatoes, Garlic and pieces of Almond… God like, amazing! I call it; Green Beans “Bacon-dene”… Although the desert offerings were plentiful and extremely tempting, I exercised some minor form of control and just opted to finish with just my signature Cappuccino… Marc the Assistant General Manager and a Keith my server made this yet another great Dining Adventure! Thank you.

WARNING: If you’re a regular at steakhouses like Peter Luger or Halls, you’ll find yourself pleasantly surprised by this place. More often than not, I’m let down by steakhouses I’m trying for the first time because I’m spoiled by my regular watering hole in Charleston. This is the exception. I was let down by Nick & Sam’s when I went last year. I did not review them out of respect for the situation. They had just opened back up after lockdown. That said— it was rough. I’m willing to try them again, just not in a hurry. I came to Bob’s with low expectations because of my other Dallas steakhouse experience. Other people picked the place for dinner and we joined. We are so glad we did. Bob’s really blew it out of the water with our meal and our bottle service. I mean I felt like I was right at home at Halls. The waiter was fantastic and glad to be there. Each steak was perfectly cooked and when it comes to the carrot, well, I’ve never been so pleased to put something that size and shape in my mouth in my entire life. I’m not a potato person but both variations were exciting enough for me to order again if I’m in the mood. The mac and cheese was stellar. A lot of times, nice restaurants either fake it with their mac and make you pay ten bucks for a bowl of disappointment— or, they make their mac so ostentatiously ornate with frills that don’t belong anywhere near a noodle. This was just right. Not the worlds greatest, but good enough to make sure I had the leftovers packed up to take home. This isn’t the best steakhouse in the world, but as of right now, the best steakhouse I’ve been to in Dallas. It’s worth every penny and you’ll be smiling before and after you pay the bill.

Good morning. I wanted to share a quick note on our experience with your team on Tuesday evening. I mentioned this to Monte during our event but would appreciate you forwarding my comments to Monte and your company leadership team. I have shared many meals with family and friends over the years at Bob's. I always mention how the food and service is consistent from visit to visit. You can easily tell how much the team cares about the customer and have never been anything other than completely satisfied with the entire dining experience. Our group visit on Tuesday evening was no exception!

Our server:

Kate was our server for our group of 12 on Tuesday evening. Let's see if I can run out of words to describe our experience with Kate. Friendly, overwhelmingly attentive, professional, knowledgeable, engaging, polished, efficient, effective, warm and accommodating, responsive, observant, enthusiastic, and so much more! Potentially, thanks to Kate, a top dining experience of my lifetime! Exceptional! Every person at our table made mention of Kate's service. We even discussed our visit again on Wednesday morning as we began day two of our business meetings.

Our overall experience:

From the moment my party and I stepped through the door, we were greeted warmly and made to feel incredibly welcome. It was evident that your staff takes great pride in their work, as their professionalism and attentiveness throughout the evening were truly remarkable. Again, Kate deserves special recognition for going above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she was more than happy to offer some great recommendations, which greatly enhanced our experience. Kate's friendly demeanor and willingness to accommodate our requests made the evening all the more enjoyable. I must also recognize the outstanding busser service we received throughout our meal. The attention to detail and timely clearing of dishes truly enhanced our dining experience. It was evident that every member of your team is dedicated to ensuring guests have a memorable time at your establishment.

Not only was the service impeccable, but the food itself was absolutely delicious. Each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, further highlighting the culinary expertise of your kitchen staff.

In an industry where exemplary service can sometimes be hard to come by, I cannot commend your team enough for their dedication to providing an outstanding dining experience. It is evident that they take great pride in their work, and their efforts have certainly not gone unnoticed. Please extend my sincerest thanks to Kate and the rest of your team for a truly memorable evening. I look forward to returning in the near future and enjoying another delightful meal. I can assure you that I will ask ahead to be seated with...

Finally! I got to go to Bob's! It's everything that Norm describes on 1310 am The Ticket. Superb fine steak house dining and service. My wife and I went to celebrate our 18th Anniversary. Neither of us are big eaters, so we knew we'd be leaving with leftovers. Their wine selection is deep, as expected. We each selected a glass based on recommendation of our excellent server Zachary. Both wines delivered! The bread and butter was served and it was game on! We wanted to try their onion rings but didn't want to order a full appetizer. No problem, they brought us each 1 spectacular onion ring on a plate. Huge, light crunchiness, great batter, sweet onion. Allison had the 9oz fillet and I took the 14oz sirloin. Both steaks were cooked perfectly. I've been attempting to get that flavor from a steak since pre-game tailgate KC Chiefs games in the late '80s. I've run through grills and smokers and have no idea how they do it. The quality of meat is the answer. They offer a nice selection of wagu options too. Their glazed carrot is sensational--sweet and flavorful. I opted for the skillet fried potatoes. They are served with a peppercorn sauce. Potatoes were skinny and fried, just like my dad used to make on Saturday mornings. Grilled onions on top were the finisher. Allison had the smashed potatoes. I tried them and they aren't over seasoned like most I avoid. I like my mashed potatoes to start at zero seasoning, but these were tasty with the garlic not overdone. I was happy to find Buffalo Trace Bourbon available on their menu. I'm also happy to report that their wine, spirit pours exceeded what everyone else out there is pouring too. They presented a dessert menu and told us to enjoy something on them, since it was a special occasion. Chocolate cake was served to us that could have easily fed 4. The service is the best service I have ever received. The dinner we selected among the best we have ever tasted. Thank you Bob's. In my humble opinion, you over-delivered on both ends. I neglected to mention the ambiance. Dark, a lot of well organized server movement. It's a well-oiled machine with the care you'd experience in BSW. Then we opened our take home bag. They wrap everything and seal all food in a container. 2nds! I got my steak finished with blue cheese. I ate the 2nd serving the next day. Finishing it off tonight!. This place delivers. So good. Legendary in DFW. I know that they have presence outside DFW, FL to AZ? My best friend by law experienced nothing less than stellar service as did I. Bob's, we'll see you soon....
