First star for cleanliness, second star for atmosphere, third star for our server being nice and apologetic at the end. ( Also noticed the SAME manager guy that use to be there for friends is still working there!) This was our first experience since it has changed over to Katie's Sports Bar and Grill after it was Friend's American Grill. First impression when you walk in was that they updated the walls and put new big screen TV's up and painted the walls gray. Bar tip is too high though. 4 top Tables were new except for the Hail Mary 7 top booth and booths against the wall were new. Nothing had really changed in the bathrooms. Next thing, was the menu was entirely different and didn't have anything that we would normally order. Yes I understand it's a new company and they have their own menu, but honestly we weren't super impressed by theirs. Prices were higher but food was disappointing. We ordered appetizers, bang bang shrimp and fried pickles. Skrimp over breaded, couldn't really taste the sweet Thai chili sauce that was on it and my shrimp still had a piece of the hard shrimp tail, so be careful. Fried pickles were good, kids just ate the pickles out of the breading though. Then we got our meal, it had been in the window for a bit, you could tell because My food was warm, plates were hot. We ordered a burger, the bottom of it was burned, and didn't have much flavor. We had ordered a kids grilled cheese, they burned the bottom, put the non burned side up and sent it out to us.. it wasn't until she went to take a bite where she saw the bottom was black. I immediately took it to the server who was by the bar and just turned the sandwich over to show her and she just said, "oh, okay." And took the plate from me. Eventually to return with one that was not burned and they did take it off our bill. Honestly, I'm a local for 20 years, we were excited to try it, but our party of 7 won't...
Read moreAppetizer was Chips & Queso. Flavor and taste and texture were good. Queso was served room temp, which caused it to thicken quickly, and it wasn't as enjoyable as it would have been if warm.
Entree was Chicken Philly with Fries. This was very good, plenty of toppings, not dry, and tasted good. Wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was good, and I'd order it again. Fries were basic steak fries. Could have used some more flavor or something to make them stand out.
Kid#1 had chicken tenders with mashed potatoes. I did sample her chicken, and it was very good. She liked both the chicken and potatoes. She gives her meal 5 stars.
Kid#2 had the grilled cheese and fries. The grilled cheese was awful. You all could do so much better. Please go have the grilled cheese nearby at Legends Bar & Grill to pick up some pointers. My son couldn't even take a 2nd bite.
Service was quick and friendly.
The atmosphere was good. I enjoyed the music though it was a tad loud but not so loud that you couldn't have a conversation.
They have several side and app options. I've attached the most...
Read moreI really hate leaving bad reviews but I hope it helps for the business to become better and successful! A star for great service from our waitress, and we left a pretty good tip. The food was pretty bad, I got the Cuban sampler and it pretty much taste like everything you can get in the freezer section, no flavor, just dropped in the fryer, And extremely small amount. My husband got what I guess was a flank steak. It was so cute and small that I had to laugh at it. He is a pretty big guy and it was like a strip of bacon to him. Honestly everything was over priced, small menu, and wasnt very tasty at all to be honest. I hope it gets better, but we definitely are missing Friends Grill after this visit. Not sure that most reviews are legit, but I feel if the menu, food and prices stay the same they will not be open for much longer...
