I’ve been coming here for over a decade, ever since I was a kid and this experience was bad enough that I will be going out of my way to go to one of the other Taco John’s on the other side of town. My boyfriend and I ordered on the app instead of going to the drive through for his birthday. We put in my car’s make and model and color and waited. We waited for twenty minutes, ten of which said the order had been completed on the app. I went and was given attitude by a man who I assume to be one of the managers. I said I had placed an order on the app twenty minutes ago. He asked for a name and I told him mine because I paid for it with my card. He came back and said he didn’t have one by that name and asked when I put the order in. I told him 20 minutes ago, again, and tried to say that the app said our order was completed but he talked over me and said that sometimes the app takes a few minutes to register. I waited for him to finish and said the app told me it was completed. He said he only had a Door Dash order for ——- and I said yes that is my order. In a snarky condescending voice, he said “yeah, well that’s the name we’re looking for” and was smiling at me and I said just ignored him and said ok and he brought me my food. I did not fight with him about the fact that they were supposed to bring me my food or that I wasn’t door dash and that he was rude. I went back to my car and checked the bag and was given two side salsas instead of two sides of house dressing. On the app it said “house salsa” but I’d never been given salsa instead of house in the 10+ years I’d been going there. I went back in and the man was trying to insinuate that I just clicked the wrong thing and was being stupid. On the receipt it said side salsa although the app said it was house. He told me house dressing or “salsa” was the same as a side salsa. I know it’s not but I didn’t argue. I told him I wanted it exchanged so he went back into the kitchen and told one of ladies to give me a couple. One of the girls, who I could tell was worried she’d gotten my order wrong, said “oh, but I thought it said salsa?” And then the man said “Oh she chose salsa but wants house” and I said loud enough for the kitchen to hear me that the app said “house”. He came back out and said “oh don’t worry about it” trying to placate me when he’s trying to make me look stupid and irrational to his staff who have always been great. I didn’t say anything and then he said “they’re normally 90 cents each, but don’t worry about it” and smiled again. That was the last straw and I was so furious, that I just left. I’ve worked in retail before and now as a phone operator for customer service and I would never, ever treat one of my patrons like this. It was incredibly disrespectful and degrading. It does not matter if it was the customer’s fault or not; the business and the employees need to make it right. I was not in the wrong in the first place and it was not unreasonable for me to ask for what I paid for. The fact that he threw in the 90 cents comment was absolutely ridiculous when I had already paid for it. I understand that this one Taco Johns does not control how the app works, but they can control how they treat customers and operate. They were supposed to bring me my food. They were supposed to give me house sauce. I understand that mistakes happen, but it is not difficult to just say “okay” and give the customer what they want, especially when I was not being rude or disrespectful. I had another manager handle an order mistake poorly and treated me like I was wasting her time when it was them who screwed up my order twice. She was deflecting the blame back onto me and never said she was sorry for the inconvenience. I don’t know if this TJ is under new management or what; but it is bad and needs to do a 180 ASAP.
Edit: adding to my review after tagging along with some friends through the drive through. I’ve been here probably a dozen since I first posted and every time the order has been wrong. They’ve forgotten food, mixed up items, etc. and been...
Read moreStruggled with service at all the taco John’s in town for at least the last three years. Ordered through the app online tonight as that seems to be the best way to make sure the order is accurate. Google says they’re open till 11 and the app took our order, but when we showed up the “open” sign was off and none of the lights except the kitchen were on. I called and someone answered and I asked if they were open because I had a mobile order but everything looked closed. She said they were open but only for another 30 minutes and the grill was off so she could only give us the sauce and desert we ordered. I told her it said online they were open till 11 and she said that was only for Friday and Saturday; I decided not to fight with her about the fact that they turned everything off 40 minutes before they were supposed to close just asked her to cancel it, but she told me the app had to do it. So I went on the app and the app told me the store had to refund it, so I called back and the girl finally talked to the manager and didn’t even describe the situation correctly (I could hear the whole conversation) and the manager told me to come back either tonight or tomorrow to get the refund. I went back and it took them forever to open the window for us and they gave us cash, the incorrect amount even though it said on the receipt that I paid $20 something. Then the manager started asking if I ordered 3 or 4 tacos, and my boyfriend had to point out on the receipt (that they gave us at the window!!!) that it said $20 and not $16. So beyond frustrated trying to get tacos from this place, I’ve been going here for over a decade and have had horrible service from being treated rudely to screwed up orders. The only reason I go here anymore is for the...
Read moreThe last two times I've eaten here have been a total disaster. About a year ago I went through the drive-thru and got stuck in it for 45 minutes literally 👈 because somebody didn't show up for work I was told. When I got to the window I said to her that they should close the drive-thru if it's going to take 45 minutes to get fast food. once you're in the drive-thru you can't get out because it's a one lane so I suggest NEVER👈👈👈 go through this drive-thru!!!! I called the manager she apologized and said she'd send some coupons but she never did send them. Today I went there for the first time since then this time one of the guys could not get my order right which is fine he seemed new but then when he called on his boss to come out they could not get the cash register to charge me the correct amount of $8.99 for the meal I chose which was a super burrito combo. Neither one could work the cash register so after several minutes I said just throw in an extra taco or something to make up for the $10.49 the register was "stuck" on. There were others behind me waiting to order so I wanted to just get this thing moving along. They didn't know how to cancel the transaction to start over. I was with a friend and we were just rolling our eyes looking at each other it was ridiculous you'd a had to be there. The food was just okay. My other food reviews I usually only give pretty good reviews. This is the worst one I've ever given and the very longest haha.
I'll...
