Santiago's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Greeley

Normally our experience at Santiago’s in Greeley is awesome. We have been coming here for the past 3 years. Excellent food and service. Very reasonably priced. But this last Saturday evening I was in the drive thru for an entire 30 minutes. The girl took my order and there were 4 cars in front of me. When it came time for the car directly in front of me at the window there obviously was an issue with the order because this car sat there for 10 minutes. So finally I got to the window and the girl reels off an order that wasn’t mine. So I said that’s not what I ordered. She asked what did I order and I told her. She shut the window then asked me a second time what I ordered. Then again shut the window and came back and asked me a third time what I had ordered. After paying she told me to pull around the building and they would bring my food out in a few minutes. I said why are you making me pull around when the car in front of me sat there for 10 minutes. I said obviously there was a problem with their order too. She said we are just behind on our orders. Now by this time there were another 5 cars waiting behind me. So I pulled around and 5 minutes later someone brought my food. Well for the first time ever we were highly disappointed with our meal. We had 2 deluxe beef & bean burritos and a guacamole & bean tostado. The tostado was cold. The burritos are usually swimming in your delicious green chili but these barely had any on them. Tons of melted cheese and lots of lettuce. Only 2 pieces of tomatoes per burrito. Nothing like we have always had and love. Very poorly put together. Disappointed in the service and the...

To start off I love the food. This Greeley location is the slowest place I have ever seen! I always drove from my house in Greeley to Santiagos in Johnstown. I was really excited to have a location in Greeley. However I have found that I can drive to Johnstown, order food and drive home faster that getting here in Greeley. Tonight I thought I would give them another try. I placed my order by phone at 4:40 (trying to miss the dinner rush) they told me to pull through the drive-through when I got there. I pulled in at 5:10 paid and they asked me to park and they would bring it right out. Still waiting at 5:30 I went in to check if they forgot about me. When I went in I had to wait in line for 10 minutes because there were 2 people ahead of me. While waiting, an elderly lady went and checked on her food as she had been waiting a long time. They told her they made everything fresh and this slows things down. At this point I am thinking they are actually killing the cattle and making their own cheese to use. To finish the story they finally handed me my food just after 5:40. An hour after I had placed the order. By the time I got home it took me 1 hour and 22 minutes to get 2 beef burritos and a couple cheese enchiladas. I eat at the Sterling, CO location often as I travel there for work and can sit down order, eat, pay and leave in less than 30 minutes. I will never go to this Greeley location again. We were in greeley for the special olympics basketball tournament. We had an hour and a half between games so we decided to go eat at santiagos. We always eat at the santiagos in Loveland which is always excellent. We arrived at the restaurant and got in line to order. We placed our order which was 4 entrees. We sat down to wait for our food. About 15 min later they called our number. We got 3 of the 4 entrees. I dropped off the 3 to my party and went back up to wait for my entree. I could see it sitting on the counter. The girl at the counter asked what i was waiting for. I pointed to my entree and said that one. She said oh ok with no lettuce right? I said yes. They kept making other orders while mine sat getting cold. I asked again for my food and she said ok. 5 min later another girl asked what i needed. I said i needed my food. She asked what it was and i pointed to it again. She said the one with no lettuce right? At this point i said i dont even care about that i just want my dinner. She told another lady and the lady cooking grabbed the plate and put it in the microwave. When i finally got it, it was still cold on the inside and the rest of my party was finished eating.
