Stir-Ups Parlor & Saloon — Restaurant in Green Bay

I'm not super into the country, but they play a decent mix of songs. My issue is it's a lot of the same songs, and I've visited multiple times over the past few years, spaced out a few months apart each time, so they don't mix it up often. The songs also transition abruptly and are often tonally jarring.

The staff are always nice and good at their jobs. The shots are small. I think you get more alcohol in the mixed drinks, but it's hard to tell. A green tea shot was $7, and the others were $5.

As a woman, the atmosphere isn't great as there are always men and often older men lurking around the raised areas on the dance floor. The floor plan invites men to be extra creepy imo. The country aesthetic kinda works in that you feel like cattle packed together in a small space. I've started seeing security around the dance floor, which is an improvement. The front area is a lot better, but I only come there to dance.

I went there last night how I usually do and have been for over a YEAR. When I got to the front of the line they took my REAL ID right away not even scanning it, trying to say the photo “wasn’t me”. Then proceeded to give attitude when I had to call the police to get it back. Once the police arrived and cleared it that I am and have been of age, the owner still gave me attitude saying they “had a picture from a different bar” that said I was underage🧍🏽‍♀️ when I asked which one because if there really was one spreading LIES then I should know to not go there again, the owner said it doesn’t matter again with the attitude. I have never gone into a bar in Green Bay underage so there would be no picture. Not a very kind...

Not a regular here, as I only visit Green Bay on rare occasions. It seems like the bouncers/security get a bad rap in the reviews I’ve read, so I’d like to include the awesome experience I had last night. I had a creep on the dance floor getting wayyyy to close for comfort and one of the security guards (don’t know his name, but he had a big bushy beard) immediately made eye contact and asked I I was ok. When I pointed the guy out, he wasted no time telling him to back off. It was a small gesture but meant a lot and made my night that much more enjoyable.
