Saturday morning, arrived at 10:20AM. Service was, and I use this word sparingly, awful. Server was slow to greet table, slow to bring back drinks, and when he brought the coffee and Virgin Bloody Mary he did not bring water out at the same time (one member of party only ordered water). Had to wait again for that.
We waited about 45 minutes for our food. Server was not at all attentive during wait. I understand a wait on Saturday morning, but not that long. When the food finally came, the potatoes were good but the Avocoado Eggs Benny was cold and no where near worth the wait. They brought the two plates out separately. Fortunately my son only had a donut so he was able to get that long before rest of the food came. Bacon was delicious! Server had asked prior to food coming out if we needed condiments etc. I asked for hot sauce but it was not brought to the table during the 45 minute wait. After he dropped off 2nd plate he said he'd grab it, and by the time we got it I was done with my food. Server was clearly new so I didn't hold it against him but there were obviously components missing from his training or it wasn't long enough training for it to stick. Definitely wasn't ready to handle a Saturday morning rush on his own.
Anyway, sorry for the rant but I like to give detail. We might try again in a few months as I understand it can take a while for a new restaurant to find its flow. I really like the concept and the different drinks, but don't come here if you're looking for a quick in and...
Read moreThe food was very good when we finally got it. We started asking about it 45 minutes after ordering, and 30 more minutes' worth of excuses passed before we were able to inhale our meals as the staff was closing up for the day.
We were told, "Just a few more minutes," again and again. If they had been upfront about the wait for food, kitchen backup, running out of potatoes, etc., we would have paid for our drinks and left saving everyone the time and trouble. A half hour is a bit long but a reasonable wait for restaurant food. Over an hour is egregious and unacceptable.
I understand being a scratch kitchen, only being open for a couple weeks, and the current state of staffing in all industries. The communication just should have been better. Our server disappeared to do side work immediately after dropping off our cocktails and seemed content to not check back in until our food was ready, even if it took an hour or more. Only after we complained did she start checking in often but with vague and unhelpful updates.
If the drinks were better, we would have ordered more while we waited, but they were just alright and definitely not worth the $10 price tag.
Overall, it's a good menu and the recipes seem on point. They just have to cut ticket times way down and train their staff on how to manage guests during long wait times. We probably...
Read moreThe food is good, and our server was kind and attentive. However, we did have some issues. First, we were told it would be a fifteen minute wait, but from the time I got the text message that I was added to the wait-list until we were sat was 40 minutes. I get it can't be exact, but we had young children with us and would not have chosen to wait that long. When we did get sat, it was another 45 minutes from when we ordered our food till we got it. So, be prepared to wait, I guess. My final issue was that I ordered a non alcoholic beverage because I'm pregnant and it sounded like a fun treat, and the thing that enticed me was the sugar, salt, lime, and dried lavender rim. The drink came out with no rim, so I asked if I could get the rim, and she brought out a cup with just sugar on the rim. My dad went in to ask for the correct room and he was told they changed the menu and only do sugar now. 😒 So I'm annoyed that it is still ON THE MENU because it was the whole reason I ordered it! They didn't even offer to take it off the bill. Overall, not satisfied with the experience and probably won't go back. At least the food was good, and it was nice to sit on the patio. Be aware that the indoors is all hard surfaces and therefore very boomy and loud, and it's cramped, so I would not want to sit...
