Update: Jesse's Diner is continuing to impress with their quick, friendly service. I started coming here years ago and even today everything was fantastic. You come in seat yourself and someone brings you a menu and takes your drink order. I got my water and my server took my order. Within less than 5 minutes everything was hot fresh and ready to my table. They have some of the best sausage patties, livermush, and sausage links around because it's NEESES!

If you've driven by this place before and haven't stopped in try them today. You'll be glad you did and they have something for everyone. Including lunch specials and daily specials they have on their board. There's usually plenty of places to sit but I wouldn't quite say they're good for large groups but a brunch or quick meeting place absolutely.

You'll find Jesse's Diner right beside Quick Cash Pawn on W Gate City (High Point Rd for those of us that refuse to call it W Gate City). It's across from Taco Bell and El Torito Express (the old Donut place). You'll have to make an effort to get here early because they're only open till 3pm. Hurry up and catch them while the grill is HOT!

6 Years Ago: I visit here maybe 2-3 times a week. I go for the Breakfast special. They always make my eggs perfect. The rest of the food is always good as well. They keep the background noise to a minimal level. It's just nice to know I have found a great place for a consistent, quick, and easy meal without all the hassle. The service is pretty stellar. I don't think I have found a place that gets your food quicker unless it was already sitting up? If you are on the fence about it, my advice try it you won't know what you're missing until you go and try it. Get a TouchTunes Jukebox and you may get...

Using our old friend, Take Out Triad, we ordered some lunch items from this little diner, with something less than overwhelming success. The order was transmitted on line, quickly acknowledged, and very quickly delivered - kudos to both Take Out and Jesse's for the timeliness - unfortunately the food was very ordinary in most respects.

The Chopped BBQ Sandwich ($5.44 with Onion Rings) was very obviously a commercially acquired product, and not a particularly good one at that. The overwhelming tastes were bland and lack of freshness. Some liberally applied hot sauce was of little help.

The Cheeseburger ($5.15 with Fries) was a typical "diner" style burger - rather small, but with some nice flavor. The Fish Sandwich ($6.04 with Hot Chips) was a rectangle of recently defrosted pressed fish flesh, which was subsequently overcooked. The Hot Chips weren't.

The Southern Fried Chicken ($6.85 with salad and bread) consisted of 2 small, under-seasoned, overcooked pieces of dark meat. This meat also was most assuredly frozen at the start of the day.The Seafood Combo ($12.95 with salad) was not all that bad but very overpriced. Again, obviously frozen, the White Fish was rather thin, but not without some flavor. The Fried Shrimp, which were in no way identifiable as shrimp by their shape, were actually very tasty. The salads were nice, the biscuit was not.

They serve 3 meals a day here, and I understand that breakfast is very good. I'll have...

Ok, really, if you are looking for some amazing food at real fair prices, then this is where you want to go! Family run and family owned. It's a lot like going home for me. I am obviously down with the brown and let me say they know how to freaking cook! I get the steak and eggs just about every time. I ask for it cooked rare. And as someone who had worked in the restaurant industry YEARS ago. Getting a restaurant that knows how to cook a rare thin steak is impossible! Like coach Hines said, that's impossible! Unless you go where they know how to cook. Steak and eggs! Selenas (yep, just like the movie:) is the server we love to see. All of the staff is amazing and remembers you.

Not to mention, the sausage gravy will make you smack someone because it's so good. So... take someone you want to smack, order the gravy and save money while enjoying some...

After driving around Greensboro failing to find a tool box, I accidentally turned into this establishment and my brother and I both just figured it was time to eat and it looked decent enough on the outside to try. Don't let the outside fool you, the interior matches that vintage diner feel and it has a certain alluring feature that really brings back that late 90's/early 00's setting. The food was absolutely next level. I was not expecting salmon patties that would very well rival my mother's cooking lol. Or cornbread that would fight my grandma's in A head on fight. For the price, you cannot beat the food quality here. Especially being so close to the downtown region, it's a missed beauty that needs more attention drawn.

We will definitely be returning for another visit! Great quality food for the price- certainly one of the cheaper breakfast options in the area. I was especially impressed with the scrambled eggs, which arrived to the table hot but still a touch soft (without being weepy!). We visited on a fairly busy weekend morning but were served promptly- the longest wait was for our drinks (coffee quality had me pleasantly surprised) and that wasn't unreasonable. One note to diners: as of recently, the establishment seems to prefer you pay with cash as there is a 2.99% surcharge added to all transactions processed with a card. For a party of two this amounted to less than $1 but just be aware!

Upon entering the establishment I was overwhelmed with the beautiful aromas that’s coated my nostrils . Filled with laughters of cheerful family’s and energetic workers. Once eating the food I came to a realization that this was the reason for their joy. The food brought me back to a very nostalgic feeling .. the feeling of a home cooked meal made with love and care. The perfectly crispy potatoes , the cheesy blend of scrambled eggs, and the fresh spicy flavorful homade salsa is drop dead amazing !! This establishment really goes above and beyond to make their customers feel like we are all just a big family . This is by far the best diner in North Carolina.
