I am so, so proud to have Awaken Coffee in our community. Shockingly, I'd not heard of it until I was driving by and saw a flag that advertised coffee. Obviously, I had to stop. Their primary mission is gainful employment for disabled individuals - a population that historically is more likely to face discrimination in the workplace setting. The service was fantastic and everyone was so kind. The little store had great merchandise; hats, shirts and stickers. The parking was easy to access and had multiple handicapped spots available. My brother has down syndrome so this place was high on my list. Everyone there has special needs and are so so sweet. They took my order which one of the drinks was a chai latte and it took them a little while to get that, but it seemed more that they couldn't find the supplies. Was extremely quiet when I walked in and everyone looked at me which was a little awkward at first but everyone was sweet and they sell ground coffee which I love to give...

A sweet friend and I went to Awaken coffee two weeks away during their grand opening. We were greeted by some amazingly friendly people and showered with smiles and brightness from behind the counter.
