I usually go to the Firehouse Subs on Woodruff Road and have always had a great experience there — friendly service and consistently delicious food. Unfortunately, my visit to the Haywood Road location was the complete opposite.
I had placed a takeout order and walked up to the counter to add fries. The woman at the register — wearing glasses and handling money — never looked up or acknowledged me. Even after standing there for a while, she just kept counting cash. Two other employees behind the counter saw me but didn’t step in, likely assuming she was the one in charge.
When she finally did look at me, she didn’t greet me, smile, or offer any kind of welcome. Her tone was cold and dismissive, like I was inconveniencing her just by being there.
While I waited for my food, she whispered to another employee, and they both repeatedly looked at me and laughed. I can’t say exactly what was being said, but it felt incredibly unprofessional and uncomfortable. On top of that, she kept giving me dirty looks. The entire vibe was hostile and rude.
To make matters worse, the sub I ordered — which I’ve gotten many times from the Woodruff Road location and loved — was sloppy and soggy. The bread tasted stale, and it was drenched in sauce to the point of being inedible.
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience stood out in the worst way. I hope management takes a serious look at what’s going on here, because this is not the standard I’ve come to expect from...
Read moreGood food but I can find that same food at any other Firehouse in the area. Hopefully, what I can't find, is the incredibly rude staff member (Andrew Parker) taking orders. He made rude comments to my friends while taking orders. When I ordered, he kept interrupting me when I was trying to tell him what I wanted. I got a water cup and filled it with Dasani WATER. My friends came over also asking where to find the water, so I showed them the Dasani I got. He was watching us and told me no, we had to get tap water or pay for Dasani. I already had the Dasani in my cup, and when my friends walked away, I was deciding on if I should just pour out the Dasani and get tap or pay. But he made the decision for me. He looks and me and in the rudest tone asks, "So are you going to pay for your Dasani water?" I was a little taken aback, but I walked to the counter to pay, ask the price, and he ignores me, still going on about how Dasani is a fountain drink and only tap water is free, as if I wasn't being compliant. I repeat, "if you tell me how much it is, I'll be able to pay for it." And I did. It was a simple mistake, and it would have been so much easier had he kindly asked me to pay for the drink. Instead, he chooses to talk to a paying customer like a thief over a DRINK. I like Firehouse but I will not be returning as long as Andrew Parker is employed. Rude...
Read moreAvoid this place, this was my 1st time coming to this Firehouse I normally go to Greer location and I promise I will not be back to this Firehouse, so apparently this location decided to put in the order kiosks for you to do their job for them so they will have more time on their phones and talking to each other, So when I ask if they could just take our order the guy behind the counter said NO we had to do it, so 1st of all let me make sure I understand, they went up on their prices but I have to put in my order? No thank you and I will not be back If the other locations do this I will make Jersey Mikes my go-to, , so to make it even worse after we ate a guy walked up to the counter and the girl at the counter took his order?? WTH, so they pick and choose who's order they take? If I drop over 30 bucks for a couple of Subs the least they can do is punch it in the computer, then it has the nerve to ask for a tip? Here is a tip, get those damn kiosks out and get better...
