Another restaurant in this town that does not offer military discounts! To me that means you don't support what it is that we do. The food was good but, the customer service was terrible. 10 minutes into the meal, we were finished. I spent the rest of the time (20 minutes) begging for a to go box, and a to go drink. The servers were just standing at the counter having a good old time yapping away. I honestly wanted to walk and and just say screw the check. Based off of this experience alone, I would never come back. I didn't feel welcomed or wanted. RESPONSE: I see you mentioned nothing about the customer service I received just the discount. So me wanting to walk out has nothing to do with your response. Goes to show your management skills and how much you pay attention. As far as the discount, yes, I sure do document every place that does not have military discounts. What your establishment does with the police force is not my concern. Try to be more professional and tactful in your responses and stick to the point. My complaint was about customer service; even your response was the same service I received. Hence why, I'm not coming back. Standing around a counter talking while a customer is waiting 20 mins to leave is unacceptable. I shouldn't have had to ask four times for a to go box or drink!!! Your cashier should smile when checking people out, not looking like we are stressing her out. Your waiters shouldn't be running their hands through their head before or after serving patrons their food. Why does the manager not walk around and check on his patrons? You guys stood at that counter the entire time. So yes, I damn sure wanted...
Read moreParker's Barbeque is not only a great restaurant serving traditional Eastern NC food, this location has historical significance which you won't find elsewhere in Greenville. There are only male waiters. There are only female cashiers. This is a traditional conservative view that the Parkers have kept in their restaurant since the beginning, to keep males and females separate. It used to be that the waiters wore white Pepsi hats made out of paper, but not anymore. It used to be that they only accept cash or check but now they take cards, too. However, what has remained the same is the restaurant's preservation of traditional Southern Christian values. Everyone who comes to eat in are treated as family. Mr. Parker walks around and talks to the patrons. There is a feeling when you are there like you are at someone's home instead of a restaurant. They have a side entrance, which is take out only. There is even an outside gazebo near the side entrance for people getting take out to sit down to eat, even though I've hardly seen anyone sit down to eat there. Most people just take the food away in their cars. Again, it's a historical restaurant that should never change the fundamental principles in which it operates.
My family only eats inside the restaurant. We only get family style, something that is unavailable at any of the other Greenville locations. Family style gets you just about anything on the menu: barbeque, fried chicken, barbeque chicken, cole slaw, mac and cheese, boiled potatoes, fried livers, green beans, etc. served to your table, with unlimited refills. For the price, it can't be beaten by any barbeque restaurant...
Read moreWhat is East Carolina BBQ? My take is, its vinegar based BBQ sauce drizzled in with seasoned pulled pork BBQ that is a flavor like no other! If you are from the northern states or the mid-west you may be used to eating pulled pork with traditional sweet BBQ sauces (like Sweet Baby Rays) or similar. You may at first, not like the flavor of Carolina seasoned pulled pork with Vinegar based sauces, because its a different taste and heat. But I can assure you if you try it with the traditional sides even with vinegar based coleslaw, it will grow on you pretty quickly. It will expand your BBQ pallet for sure. So, what better place to go or order from then at Parkers to enjoy BBQ while your in the East Carolina triangle area of Raleigh, Greenville, Fayetteville and beyond.? Parkers BBQ will have something for you to enjoy, and if your not ready for the Vinegar BBQ Sauce try their Sweet BBQ Sauce, and I guarantee you will love your pork BBQ even more, and I haven't even mentioned their delicious desserts i.e. banana pudding, and cobblers, and other delicious sides. Order you BBQ online and bring some Carolina into your home, you wont regret it! Parkers is all about family dinning, simple and friendly, they provide fast and very friendly service, and if there is an oops in your order they will make it...
