Visited Grosse Pointe Woods Crispelli's new restaurant for first time last night. Party of 7, 3 pizza's with large salad. As we walked through the doors, felt welcome with greeting from staff behind the counters. Being the first time having ever eaten at a Crispelli's, we were unaware of their policy that you can not place an order for takeout with the expectation of eating the food on site if space allowed(to shorten wait time) consequently a bit of confusion ensued. Finally, since there were plenty of tables available, we were told it would be OK this one time. One of the staff from behind the counter brought our order in boxes with a few plates and forks and set them in the middle of the table. As we were waiting for the last two of our party to arrive, the waitress approached me and informed me, we would have to bus our own table when we finished our meal and pointed to the station where the trash and dirty dishes should be placed. From that point forward, we were pretty much ignored. I found this very curious as there was a staff member "bussing" other tables of patrons that had left. When we finished our meal, I did just that, picking up all the dirty dishes and used paper products in the appropriate places. When nearly finished, the young man cleaning the other used tables offered to finish cleaning our table. I thanked him for the offer but finished my task. I have to say, I was a little taken aback, not with Crispelli's policy, but with the expectation that one group of patrons who purchased a complete meal, but with permission was granted a deviation from their policy of the establishment was told to clean up after they had finished their meal when specific staff was available and was completing this task for all other tables in the restuarant. Honestly, with the events transpired, I really doubt that I will ever visit...
Read moreWe’ve been dining at Crispelli’s in Grosse Pointe since they opened, so this review is long overdue! It’s our go-to spot for a great meal, and every visit has been nothing short of amazing.
Most recently, we celebrated my husband’s birthday here with the entire family, and once again, the experience was perfect. The food was delicious as always, and the service was exceptional. A huge shoutout to Emma and the manager, Eric for taking such great care of us. They allowed us to bring in our own cake and seamlessly we’re able to split our checks. Hailey, Julie, Jasmine, and many others who I’m forgetting also have previously taken great care of us.
Also! I’m forgetting to mention how affordable it feels here. In the world where it seems like everything is becoming way more expensive, especially to eat out, Crispellis feels like one of the only places where we can eat out in peace, getting everything that we want, and the bill still being what we feel is very affordable for a great dining out experience.
Whether it’s a casual dinner or a special occasion, Crispelli’s never disappoints. Great food, great service, and a...
Read moreI stopped by this location last week late at night after work, and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. I usually go to the Somerset location since I work at the mall, I noticed a few differences in the menu and pricing at first. I had a couple of questions, and Alex who was making pizzas behind the counter was professional and incredibly helpful and patient with me. He took the time to walk me through everything, and we got it all sorted out quickly.
The pizza itself was excellent fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. The crust had a great balance not too thin, not too thick. The Caesar salad was fresh, had good color, and was portioned just right.
The atmosphere was another highlight. The space was clean, modern, and very aesthetically pleasing. It felt welcoming without being overly crowded or loud. The staff all seemed genuinely friendly and like they enjoyed being there. I normally do not take the time to write reviews but my experience was truly great and I’ll...
