Due to some issues I am just now able to post this review. Last year my parents, my brother, my husband (then fiancé) and I went to Hope’s. He had never been but my family and I had gone for YEARS. We would buy multiple cakes every time we would go. This particular time was different though. Peak season for travelers and the place was completely empty except for the woman working there that day and hardly any cakes to be seen. At this point the “masks required” policy was left up to the businesses individually. Most businesses did not require them but apparently this one did, which was fine except there was never a sign posted to let you know before you entered the store. We didn’t even get into the door when the woman working there started yelling at us, incredibly rudely might I add, that we are supposed to wear masks. It’s important to note that most businesses that we had encountered our entire week there had no mask or optional mask policies. But she acted like we should’ve known and like it was a common denominator among the businesses when it most definitely WAS NOT. We had to get gas anyways so we went down to the gas station right down the road. I literally watched the parking lot the whole time and no one pulled into the parking lot but someone left so she clearly did not want to work. I checked the business hours on the door and online and they were still supposed to be open. I was very upset. My family went here for years and dropped a lot of money on cakes EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Good riddance to this place! I’ll never be back. I can easily find someone else who does act like they want...
Read moreI like cheesecake as much as the next person, but for me, cheesecake is either just OK, horrible, or excellent. The cheesecake we had at Hope's was merely OK.
First, each piece of cheesecake is in an individual container and all the different flavors are randomly placed in an open cooler in the middle of the floor. There are many choices which is a plus, but on the downside you don't know how long they've been sitting there. From the taste of mine, it had been there most of the day.
Also, the piece we got was just short of frozen, which is not the way to eat cheesecake. I suppose this is done to ensure they last longer in the cooler, but it definitely detracted from the taste since we almost needed a knife to cut it. I selected a piece from the top layer in the cooler, so I can't imagine what they're like further down toward the bottom.
I would not recommend Hope's and I will not return. If you're a cheesecake-aholic and can't live without it, I think it's your only choice in this area. Personally, I can...
Read moreTHANKS A LOT! Now, we have to make this a must on or trips. Their selection is insane! If you can't find something that sounds good to you, just leave because you don't deserve the experience of their cheesecake. After you take your first bite, you regret not getting the whole thing. This cheesecake is the perfect texture, not too light but not too dense. All the flavors we bought tasted perfectly crafted and awesomely executed. I can not pick just one, but I think the banana and Bailey's are my favorites. The only improvement they could possibly make is a bit more crust, but that's me. I always like the thickest crust. You guys are killing it! You will have our business several times per year. I hope all the locals discover you so you guys are...
