This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Cracker Barrel. It started when you entered the restaurant the hall entrance smelled like urine. We were seated at a table given menu’s the waitress asked if we would like anything to drink? I ordered decaf my husband ordered regular coffee when it was served it was cold. We looked over the menu’s decided on what we wanted my husband asked where is the waitress? I saw her cleaning several tables instead of coming and taking our order then go back and clean tables after you make sure all your customers have what they need and in between taking our order and delivering it. When we finally received our order I ordered over medium eggs they were hard and dry and cold, my husband never received his biscuits his steak was dry and chewy did I mention that our whole meal was cold!!! I am guessing it’s because our food was sitting there waiting to be delivered while she was so intent on cleaning the tables. When our food was delivered the waitress stated she was going to make a fresh pot of decaf that was great BUT she never came back not to refill our coffee or ask about our food. I did see what I thought was possibly a manager come out of the kitchen he went to one table then returned inside the kitchen never to be seen again. I am so disappointed this was the worst experience I ever had at a...
Read moreI think the Barrel has cracked. Cracker Barrel has been one of my favorite restaurants for Breakfast. This past weekend, myself along with my grands and my daughter were there for breakfast; mind you my grandson was complaining because he experienced bad service on a previous visit, I assured him that things were better and he decided to join us. We were there mainly during brunch, so get to our table and they wanted to have my youngest grand sit at a side of table that would be blocking the aisle instead of a corner table that we wanted so he would not be in the aisle; it was just kinda a ridiculous. So we placed our order, there were 4 plus a toddler, the server was petty nice and biscuits were warm and good. When we got our food, it was not tasty at all and portion were so small. I always get the Grandma Sampler, the meat was dry, the eggs were hard, I could count the number of hashbrown they gave me, they were so sparse. It was just not good at all. If you are going to serve breakfast all day as option, the food should be good, no matter what time of day it is. We're looking at checking out other restaurants in the Lake County area, I don't like wasting money on bad food. We still tipped our server, for wonderful service she provided, we didn't have look for her, she continued to make sure we were good, even though the...

So after many, many years of not having Cracker Barrel, I decided to treat myself to a Cracker Barrel breakfast as I waited for my vehicle to be serviced in the area.
As I entered, I remembered Cracker Barrel having such a cool old time store, and they did. Sweet.
I was brought to my table and I saw on the menu the Old Timer breakfast, eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, that’s what I’m talking about and that’s what I ordered.
As I patiently waited for the food to arrive at the table, it was only a short wait, hooray, feeding time!
As I started with the eggs, they were good, the bacon was chewy, but Biscuits and Gravy, absolutely Repulsive! The biscuits were harder than hockey pucks and the gravy tasted like it was from a bag of flour! Absolutely disgusting, it was like eating in a cafeteria. The casserole was cold, not hot, not warm, but cold.
Welp, sad for Cracker Barrel, it’ll be a long time before I head back for a Classic Homecooked Meal, (HA) no thank you. It’s such a shame, stopping at Cracker Barrel’s was such a treat on family roadtrips “back in the day”.
The waitress was nice and service was prompt, that’s about it for 5 stars.
Good Luck Cracker Barrel,...
