Olive Garden Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Gurnee

Saturday night at 9:45 my family came in. Our hostess service was awesome. Everything outside of that was horrible! Understanding they closed at 11 we came in knowing what we were going to order, we ordered right away and an appetizer to start.. Not with our entire entree order after finishing soup/salad. We saw our waitress when she took our order, brought our drinks and brought our food to which we had to hurry and ask for refills before she disappeared again! Never once came back to check on us. We asked the manager for our waitress so we could order dessert and get boxes. She tossed our dessert on the table with the boxes!! No bag no “do you need anything, are you ready for the check” did not see her til we were at the end of our auto payment at the table…I understand in the restaurant business walking in mins before they close but an 1hr 15mins is enough time for a family to eat. Not to make them feel rushed with ignoring them in hopes they don’t order anything or make any requests, waiters cleaning and sweeping under us! Under my sons high chair as he ate, let alone when there are costumers you shouldn’t be complaining about other costumers in a vulgar manner! It’s very obvious by the service given why people choose not to tip, bad service is not a valid reason for a rip. If you give bad service then you have to be expected that your tip will amount to $0. Coming at the end of a payment with a different attitude is a cheap route in hopes to boost the experience. The impression on dinner that families come in to pay for should be considered especially a family with a high bill, everyone CHOOSES to be where they are so don’t make costumers feel as if they’re bothering you...

Absolutely ridiculous. I went on 05/15/23’. I walked in and told the host that there'd be a party of 4. He tells me the estimated wait time is 30-45 min. I say “OK”. I never said no. The host never asked me for my name or number. So, of course, people that arrived AFTER me got seated BEFORE I did since he never checked me in. So I just joined the waitlist MYSELF on the app. I joined the wait list at 3:34 pm and received a text message at 4:18 pm saying that my estimated wait time was coming to an end and that my spot would be held for 5 min. I showed it to the same host, he said it’d be another 30 min. Then I received a text message at 4:28 saying my table is ready but we weren’t seated till 4:50 pm. And that’s all because I myself mentioned something to a different host. Then someone else noticed that my estimated wait time has came to an end minutes ago. I told them about the host issue. Luckily this person understood or else we were going to have to start all over. Also, the host told me I was first in line but I heard the host say the exact same thing to other customers. Extremely unprofessional, specifically because we were a party of 4 and larger parties were getting seated before us. I had a panic attack the entire time. The food wasn’t even that good. I don’t recommend the Gurnee location. The host has blonde hair, and colored eyes, probably blue and is a Caucasian male. Olive Garden is an amazing Italian restaurant that has food that will blow you away! The food is fresh, tasty, and tossed with homemade sauce, Juices that sizzle in your mouth, you can wash down your food with some homemade oranges that they provide to you, or have any drink of your choice. On top of that its a beautiful establishment filled with beautiful scenery of "Italy" that still makes you feel at home. They have seats that will make you feel comfortable as you Feast on your meal, and nice couches for you to sit in as your weight for your table to be called. Although the couches in the waiting room are fairly comfortable, the waiting room is normally packed here, making you wait around 30 minutes for a table. It takes a very long time for the customers to receive a table, but of course it would take a long time because there are many customers that enjoy having a meal at this restaurant other place is normally packed, but if you manage to wait as long as they need you to, they will reward you it was an amazing treat! Their food. Olive Garden is an amazing Italian restaurant, with amazing food and scenery in the restaurant. Although the waiting room is full, it is a sacrifice that you must be willing to take. Highly recommend going to Olive Garden for a family reunion or a date, the employees here I'll make sure but you enjoy your visit as they are the most friendly waiters you'll ever meet.
