This restaurant was horrible in every way imaginable. I visited this restaurant yesterday around 8:15pm after a long day at great America with my young adult children. The young girl at the entrance that took our payment was very nice. She was the only employee that was pleasant. We found a table to sit at but noticed trash in the corner near our table. We tried to get the attention of staff to make them aware. Every staff member ignored us. The food was old and tasted horrible. We were trying to ask if they would bring out fresh pizza and chicken but the staff that was behind the glass ignored us also. The lady that was on the grill was very rude to myself and my children when we asked for steak, rolling her eyes and then even though I asked for medium well proceeded to give me a burned piece of steak, tossing it on my plate. We were there for at least 20 min, no one came over to our table and by this time we wanted refills of our beverage. I then approached the manager and explained to her that no one had been over to our table to greet us or ask if we needed a refill. She got up and stated she would take care of it. While I was walking back to our table one of the waitresses says to the manager,” Is this another complaint because that’s not even my table. So I stated well I am not sure who our waitress is because no one has came over to our table. The waitress then began to yell and cuss at me while the manager stood there and said nothing. Eventually another waitress walks up and states that it was her table, however she was yellling also and began to curse as well. Again, the manager stood there doing nothin, she didn’t even ask them to stop yelling at customer. At this point I told my children we were leaving because we aren’t about to be cursed out by waitresses for asking them to do their job. We left quickly, the manager made no attempt to rectify the situation, in fact the waitresses were still yelling and cursing as we left. This place is a joke. I attempted to call corporate several times this morning. All I got was a voice mail asking for my name number and what location i visited. My rating is negative...
Read moreDisappointing ☹. I hadn't been to this location in about 2 years and I was really looking forward to my visit. I brought 3 people who had never been to a Golden Corral. Medium well steak was cold, went back for another one and it was hard; first baked potato was brown, dry and hard went back for another and same thing. I informed the person serving them so he had to cut open three potatoes before I got a good one and he seemed bothered then tells me there won't be anymore because they take an hour to bake and by that time it would be closing time. Ok, understandable. Our server had the audacity to tell us that she was waiting for us to leave so she could leave and kept rushing us to eat so she could clear the table. She took a cell call and purposely spoke loud so we would hear as she said (in Spanish) I'm waiting for these people to leave and I'll be done. We still tipped her 18% of our bill and not even a thank you or goodnight. I'm sharing her name on purpose... Karla - short latina woman. The gentleman serving the drinks at the register was very nice. I believe he's a manager... heavy set, middle aged (I think), African American. I still gave it 3 stars cause everything else I ate was good, silverware was in bags, disposable gloves were available and required of customers in order to serve food. We were a party of 10 and were informed that we'd have to sit in 2 separate tables due to table setup for social distancing but then they accommodated us. Maybe that's why or server wasn't too pleasant - who knows. I'm still gonna give this place the benefit of the doubt and return cause with this pandemic I know things aren't easy. Read moreI went here with some friends last week. The staff all seemed very attentive and busy. I can't overstate how good the staff was. I had set my plate down temporarily at another table so that I could get ketchup, and when I looked a moment later after taking back my plate, the spot had already been wiped down and cleaned. Also, shout out to Shawanda (or some similar name)... She was a great server.
The food was pretty good for what it was. I especially liked the salad options.
For the not as good stuff... I'm not docking a star or anything, since I feel like it is either happenstance or a corporate thing.
For the first thing - maybe I misjudged it, but the men's handicap bathroom seemed like it wouldn't lock, due to it looking like the wood was stripped or something. Again, I could be mistaken, but it looked that way.
Second thing - there was only one cashier. They did what they could, but it seemed like the computer was maybe having issues and freezing or not processing transactions. This happens at many places, even Six Flags, so I'm not sure if having a second cashier would have helped... But I think it is worth mentioning.
Third thing - at least two of us seemed to get stomach aches from the bourbon chicken, or maybe the shrimp. We didn't have an overlap of much of the same food, but the two of us that had the chicken/shrimp had a bit of a stomach ache within an hour or sooner of eating it.
I hope no one is deterred by this review though. Based on how well management seemed to have trained their staff, I imagine that if anything is wrong here, they will try to make it right in the future. Overall, it was definitely a...
