I used to really like Papa Johns Pizza. But on vacation, I ordered online and picked up my order because I needed to feed my boys quickly and it was late and I still had more than a few more miles to go. When I picked up the order, I discovered that the second meat that I had ordered and paid for was not on my pizza. I asked to be refunded for the added topping, since I did not receive it. It was refused. They said I could wait a half hour for them to remake it or take it as-is and still pay for the additional meat I didn’t get. Again, I had miles more to drive and it was 9:50 pm, so I took it as-is and decided to contact them later to get my $2.50 back. Because, yes, it’s only $2.50, but it’s $2.50 that I paid FOR SOMETHING I DID NOT GET. After multiple attempts to get a resolution from the location, I was told basically “too bad”. According to the reviews, this location has done this to multiple other customers. I would contact Papa John’s corporate, but I was told if I do, it will just be routed back to the management of the store, who have already refused to refund me the $2.50. So, cool. Papa Johns Pizza stole $2.50 from me. And other money from other people at the same location (Hagerstown, MD). But I solemnly vow to never purchase from Papa John’s again. And to tell as many people as possible about the absolute horrendous customer service. Because, yes, I am petty enough to make sure they lose more than $2.50 worth of business...
Read moreOrdered a pizza through the app for pickup. I arrived at the location and it was clean and I was greeted promptly, then they told me they were still working on it. The email I got said 20-30 minutes, which I thought was slow, but I arrived at twenty minutes. It took 33 minutes for it to be ready.. late is late, and honestly that's ridiculous for pickup. I rechecked on the app and delivery was 30-40 minutes. Either they deprioritize pickup, or they need to tell corporate that the average wait time algorithm the app uses is wrong because they're slow.
The pizza is always good, but it's not the best in town. I prefer Kings, or 28 south but sometimes you gotta switch it up. I subtracted two more stars because the price. This location does not participate in the national specials, they always increase price for freebies(like right now the free cheese sticks for any order over $11 is with the purchase of a full price large specialty). You can get a pizza and soda at 28 south downtown with table service and a tip for cheaper then Papa John's, and they use fresh, LOCAL, never frozen ingredients.
Overall, I'm honestly always disappointed after I order Papa John's. The price is too high, they're always late, the only good thing is the employees are usually friendly. This is my first time going back in over a year, and I think it'll be a while more...

Gave card info girl CONTINUED TO SAY MY CARD WAS DENIED. I CANCELLED ORDER CALLED CAPITAL ONE BANK Immediately. I established through my bank that that was not accurate so Had bank conference call (3 way) PAPA JOHNS Bank told them that it was approved 3 times So I paid and At midnight the money was taken out of my account. Never got ANY FOOD BUT THEY TOOK MONEY 3 TIMES THE AMOUNT. Completely unbelievable. Yet she had trouble focusing on me as I ordered she would not respond AT TIMES.. I WOULD SAY "HELLO" as she was on phone BUT GOT NOTHING. (Very weird encounter.) Don't even want what they OWE TO ME..
