I love coffee, I love local business, and I really love sharing small businesses that LOVE what they do… and y’all — JP Mino Coffee in Hagerstown, MD understood the assignment.
This stop was extra special because I got to try something completely new to me — Black Dog Coffee — and oh my crema, it did not disappoint. I’ve never had their beans before, but I’m here to say they’ve officially entered my Top 5 Coffee Roasters in the tri-state area. Bold. Smooth. Balanced. Basically a warm hug in a cup.
Now let’s talk about Trish — the lovely barista who saw my over-caffeinated soul from across the counter and said, “I got you.” I threw a very specific drink request at her (because I’m a little particular, OKAY?), and she didn’t just roll with it — she took her time, listened, and absolutely nailed it. That kind of patience and barista intuition? Elite.
JP Mino is centrally located in Hagerstown, and the vibe is just the right amount of cute-meets-cozy — it’s the kind of place where you could romanticize your laptop work or spill your secrets over a second latte. IYKYK.
So if you’re local, or you just appreciate good coffee done with care and a little bit of flair, do yourself a favor and stop by. And if you see Trish, tell her Amber sent...
Read moreAfter hearing many people rave about JPmino coffee, I was eager to try them out. I'm so glad that I did! This is such a cool coffeehouse with lots of comfy seating indoors and outside. They have books and games for your enjoyment, as well as lots of hand sanitizer for safety. The A/C was pumping and the low lighting gave it a cool vibe. I had the blackberry white chocolate iced coffee with lavender and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Hands down the best coffee drink I've ever had (and I've had coffee all over the country). My boyfriend had an iced dirty chai that he loved. Not only were the drinks amazing and reasonably priced, the service was outstanding. The owner and barista are literally the kindest people you will ever meet. They were extremely welcoming and engaging. They offered to make any drink I could imagine. I saw lovely looking homemade baked goods that I'll be trying next time, including some mouthwatering banana bread. They also offer a rewards program for free where you earn points for purchases. I highly recommend stopping here! You will...
Read moreStopped going here because the owner is running a gourmet coffee shop and trying to cut corners by running carton milk INTENDED FOR CEREAL through an espresso machine because he doesn't want to pay for the proper espresso machine milks. It's especially true for the oat milk he cheaps out on. It 100 percent makes the gourmet coffee a worse final product. When you're using great coffee and running it through a multi thousand dollar espresso machine, common sense will tell you that you don't use cheap cereal milk as your gourmet drink base. It doesn't work to cheap out on any food ingredient in the food industry anywhere. Milk is so important to a final coffee product that it's just not acceptable for me as a consumer to spend money here when the owner won't even do the same on his own product. A shame because the coffee...
