Tucked away in a Hagerstown strip mall, a culinary gem awaits – and trust us, you absolutely should not judge this book by its cover. This unassuming Mediterranean spot, with its basic interior and humble storefront, delivers a flavor experience that astonishingly surpasses even the authentic cuisine we recently enjoyed in Greece and Turkey. From the moment you step in, the aroma of fresh, sizzling meats and vibrant spices hints at the magic happening behind the counter. My Turkish bowl with perfectly carved, fresh-off-the-spit lamb was nothing short of perfection. Each bite was a symphony of tender, succulent lamb, crisp vegetables, and a medley of sauces that burst with freshness and depth. My husband's Koobideh Kebab was equally remarkable, boasting an incredible juiciness and rich, savory flavor that left us both completely blown away by the sheer quality. The dedication to fresh ingredients is evident in every dish, from the hand-cut lamb for the shawarma to the vibrant, crisp produce that forms the base of their bowls and platters. The staff are incredibly friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere, and the prices are remarkably reasonable for such high-caliber food. While the inside seating area is admittedly basic, it's quickly forgotten once you dive into their sensational offerings. This is a place where the food is the star, and it shines brighter than any fancy decor ever could. If you're anywhere near Hagerstown and craving truly exceptional Mediterranean food, do yourself a favor and seek out this hidden treasure. You won't be disappointed.

The service was excellent. I don't think that it was super busy at the time so the owners were in the front area ready to greet us. They were friendly and were able to explain the toppings that they offer, and help my girlfriend pick what she thinks she would like. (She is not very familiar with Mediterranean food) As for the food. Both me and my girlfriend ordered pita wraps. She ordered the falafel wrap, and I ordered the lamb wrap. The falafel was pretty good, she also got a pomegranate sauce on it that was absolutely delicious. The lamb was tasty, and a good price, but it was a little chewy for my taste. I will likely order something else next time. The greens, turkish salad, pickles, and sumac onions had a very nice flavor and texture. There was a sauce that I thought was tzatziki, but it is actually cacik which was really good. The pickles were excellent as far as pickles go. Overall I can recommend the falafel, the pomegranate sauce, the cacik, and pretty much any of their toppings. By the way they let you pick and choose which ones you want. My girlfriend isn't a fan of slivered onions so she didn't get the sumac onions on hers. The price was really good for Mediterranean food. I usually would spend at least $50 on Mediterranean food for two. This only came to $25 I think they really should get more business. If you're thinking about it, give them a try!

New spot?!?! Mediterranean spot! A yummy spot for sure 😋

🗺️📍625 Dual Hwy, Hagerstown, MD 21740

This is a super late post for me, but hey at least I posted 🤣 My toddler and I had fun over the weekend getting our toes wet at pangborn park 🦆🛝and staying up late watching outdoor movies at City Park 🎩🍫🍭🎥 but of course all that time outside makes one hungry 😋

If you've seen my post history you'll know I'm a huge fan of a particular Mediterranean restaurant here in Hagerstown. So when I saw that there was a new (and unrelated) "spot" in town I became very intrigued. Plus it was even closer to home! Of course excitement also comes with a bit of nerves, How would the food hold up? What if it's too different or what if it's too much the same 🤷🏼‍♀️ I've tried many different places all over Maryland and DC, and most just aren't as good as what we have here imo. So we took the chance and decided to give this new "spot" a chance. And I'm glad we did 😋

"Mediterranean Spot" is a new Mediterranean quick service restaurant that just opened up.

I walked in with toddler on hip and a bit of mud on the rest of us 🤣🫠 But that didn't stop us from getting a super friendly greeting as soon as we walked in. It's a smaller location, off of Dual highway in the same plaza that has cartridges galore, wonderbooks, Aldi's, and supreme buffet. It's the storefront that use to have the little Chinese takeout and later the krab joint. It's been cleaned up, has a few tables and chairs, and new menu over the wall. The woman running the place was superrrr friendly and loved seeing my little one.

The menu is similar to our other Mediterranean restaurant in that For the most part it's a pic a bowl or a wrap and then what fillings you want in it. They have pre-customized selections with recommended topping combinations but they have the whole topping bar in front of you and labeled so you can pick and choose and customize however you want you don't have to go by the pre-selected menu options.

I did a Turkish bowl with half rice half lettuce, It includes lamb meat and a variety of toppings (Plus I added baba ganoush - speaking of theirs is really good!!!). She asked about my spice level preference before she put any sauces on. The food was very fresh with a lot of variety. I also got a side of falafel. The recipes and seasonings are different so I didn't just feel like I was eating the exact same thing I could have gotten elsewhere so this really does add a new great location to the community for more variety! Plus being closer to home and easier parking lot makes me very happy lol.

Honestly I also can't deny that I enjoyed the fact a little too much that I was in and out with fresh food in hand while driving past the exact same cars still in line at Burger King knowing they probably paid more for a much less fresh (and fresh feeling after eating) meal. My bowl lasted me 2 meals (plus a toddler nibbling), And I do like their to-go containers a bit more than the other places as the lid could pop on and off a bit easier with their bowl but it was still a nice compostable bowl. I am going to try to make time soon though to dine in.

For those wondering I did see a sign on the door saying that the food is halal. They also use a variety of different food delivery services such as DoorDash and...

I was in Hagerstown visiting a relative and wanted to find a place to grab some food before heading home. I looked up restaurants on Google maps and saw that this place has 5 stars and 218 reviews. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a restaurant with five stars and more than just a few reviews before, so, of course I had to try it.

Mmmmmmmm. I am so glad I “discovered” this place. My husband and I decided to try several things: spanakopita, falafel balls, roasted eggplant, lamb doner wrap, and baklava. We loved all of it.

I never really liked falafel very much before. I thought it was okay, but never went out of my way to order it anywhere. So, what a delight it was to eat some that are so delicious, I would go out of my way to order again. Great texture & flavor, it was hard not to eat them all in the car on the way home with our takeout.

Everything was delicious, so don’t think by singling out the falafel and the baklava (which I’m about to do) that everything else isn’t worth its own paragraph of praise. Good baklava (in my experience) is hard to find. I’ve had very little luck over the years. It’s one of those things you usually have to make yourself if you want it to be good. It’s very exciting to find some that I enjoyed so much here. It was easy to eat - you can bite through it without struggle, it doesn’t stick to your teeth, and it tastes lovely.

The only thing I don’t like about Mediterranean Spot is that it’s a half hour away from where I live, so it’s not quite close enough to eat there as often as I’d like. That is probably a good thing for my wallet, because I would eat...
